Ever since she was a little girl, Elsa had always loved macaroons. She snuck into the kitchen one late afternoon, hoping she would find some.

She was about to take a bite when the kitchen doors swung open. Anna eagerly skipped over to her. "Hey, Elsa! Ooh, are those macaroons?"

Elsa yelped in surprise when she was hugged. "Oh, Anna!" She laughed. "Why are you so sweaty?"

Anna released Elsa and smiled apologetically. "I was just outside. Kristoff was chasing me because I touched his sled. And I was only trying to help because it looked dirty." She giggled.

Elsa chuckled. Anna's antics never ceased to amuse her. She grabbed a dish towel and gave it to her sister. "Here. Dry your face."

Anna wasn't afraid to admit she was sweating. It had to be at least ninety degrees outside. She was hot and sticky, but relieved to be indoors. Especially since Elsa was with her.

Elsa handed her a glass of water. Anna wheezed in gratitude and gulped it down. "May I have a macaroon?"

"Help yourself."

The sisters lounged comfortably in their seats and enjoyed the macaroons.

After a while, Elsa stood up.

"Where are you going?" Anna asked.

"I must return to my work."

"Oh no," Anna grabbed Elsa's arm. "You're not fully rejuvenated. We're going out."

"Now? That sounds wonderful, love, but—"

"C'mon. Let's go for a walk," Anna suggested.

Elsa stared at her sister's hopeful, adoring eyes and couldn't help it. "Okay. You got me."

"Yes! Let's get rolling! I mean, not that we're trolls. We're breathing humans. But wait, don't trolls breathe too?"

"You might be onto something there, Anna," Elsa laughed, as she linked their arms together.

"I could be," Anna hummed.

They chuckled.

The sisters walked through town together. They were happy, despite the heat. "Wow. You were right. It is hot out here."

"I know. Hopefully we can find some place shady..." the princess looked around.

"Or," Elsa replied. "I could help keep us cool with a little magic."

"That would be perfect!" Anna released her sister's hand. Elsa stepped back, raised one arm and with a flick of her wrist, a puffy cloud hovered over their heads.

Anna sighed with relief as snowflakes tickled her skin. She giggled at the sensation. "Ahh."

"Better?"

"Much better. Shall we continue?"

"We shall."

As they strolled on the cobblestones, the flurry followed them. Neither sister could describe the pure bliss and joy living in their souls.

"I really enjoy walking with you, Elsa," Anna said.

Elsa squeezed Anna's warm hand. "Me too. I missed doing these simple things with you. Walking, talking..."

"Definitely talking."

"And reading."

"That's my favorite."

"Although sometimes you get a little competitive," Elsa said.

"How so?"

"Well, sometimes when I get ahead in a series, you try to catch up with me."

Anna laughed. "Only because you're a fast reader!"

"Sorry," Elsa shrugged, chuckling. "Then I give hints and sometimes spoil it for you."

"Elsa you're such a stinker when you do that!" Anna giggled.

Both of them were laughing. "I'm sorry."

"Don't be. I find out eventually, even though I already knew it was going to happen. It's frustrating, but like...in a good kind of way. Somewhere in that zone."

Elsa hummed in response and leaned her head against Anna's. "Yet you still love me."

"Always."

They were quiet, both touched by the sisterly moment. Anna absentmindedly swung their arms back forth through the cold air. She savored the moment, longing for many years to bond with the girl she called sister. "Elsa?"

"Yes?"

"I love you."

"I love you too."

And walking together through their beautiful kingdom was a perfect way to do so.
