2200 B.C.
A girl was walking through her little village. Her name is Ariadne Salvatore. She said hello to everyone. The villagers loved her for she was kind, loyal and above all innocent. They would say she had a heart as pure as gold. "You don't have to look for me. I'm here, sweet Aria." Ariadne turned around and smiled at her good friend, Arcadius. "Seems like it, Cade. You read my mind again, didn't you?" Arcadius is a psychic. He can read people's mind. "Yes. You never said I couldn't." They continue to walk till they arived at the river. "Can you wait till I'm done with washing the clothes?" Ariadne got down on her knees and washes her clothes as well of her family. Arcadius didn't answer and just stood there. 'If only I would have her.' The thought came from the leader of the village. He was staring at Ariadne. Arcadius walked over to him. "The thing you imagine, bother..." The man turned around to look at Arcadius. "It is impure. It's forbidden. If you allow me deeper into your mind, perhaps I can quell your urges." The man was riled up by someone having a peak into his mind. Arcadius left when his help wasn't welcome. "That was dangerous, Cade. He's our leader for a reason. He will have you killed for reading his mind." Ariadne has washed the clothes and witnessed it. Arcadius sighed for Ariadne was right. "I'll walk you home." He took some clothes from her. "I'll help you carry them." Ariadne only smiled and thanked him in her thoughts. The night has fallen while the two friends were talking. Someone knocked on the door. "I'll see who it is." She stood up from her chair and slowly walked to the door. A bad feeling overcame her, for some reason. Ariadne opens the door to find the leader of the village. The villagers behind him. He interrupted her before she could say anything. "Where is Cade, Aria? We know he's here." Ariadne shakes her head. "I-I..." Men burst into the house without permission. They push Ariadne aside and she falls on the floor. The men take a hold of Arcadius. "You will burn for your sins." The leader smirks and Ariadne's parents run over to their daughter. "My sweet angel." Her father embraces her. "Are you okay?" The men drag Arcadius out of the house. "Where are they taking him?" Ariadne runs after them. "Let him go!" They bound him to a big piece of wood on a pyre. People started throwing things at him. Everyone turned against him except Ariadne. She pushed herself forward through the crowd. "Cade!" Arcadius smiled slightly when he saw his only real friend. "Keep your daughter in check!" The leader said to her parents. They hold on to her and kept her from running to her friend. "No! You can't do this!" They set fire to the stake. "Stay who you are, my sweet Aria. You're the fairest of them all." Arcadius whispered sweet words to Ariadne. He screamed in anguish. Tears slipped of her cheeks. A shockwave came and killed them all. With the exception of his sweet Aria and her parents. Ariadne stood up and looked around her. Her parents were unconscious. 'I don't want to die.' Ariadne had triggered her psychic powers because of the loss of her friend. She walked to the leader and calmly got on her knees. "Help me..." He reached for her and she shook her head. "You killed my Cade. A monster doesn't deserve mercy." Ariadne left him to die.
