A/N: Blame Nieceyluvsfanfic for this little piece of crack, er, catnip. :)

Danny Williams breezed into his partner Steve McGarrett's house without knocking, as usual. He paused to greet the black cat perched on the back of the sofa. "Hey, Ninja, how ya doing? I got something for you."

Steve came into the room at the sound of his partner's voice. "Are you torturing my cat again?"

Danny spread his hands, all innocence. "Would I do a thing like that?"

"Absolutely," Steve replied. "So, what do you have this time."

Danny brandished a small bottle. "I have this."

Steve took the bottle from him and read the label. "Catnip essence? What is that for?"

"You spray it on his toy, and he goes crazy," Danny said. "Here, I'll show you." He looked around and found one of Ninja's toy mice. He squirted it liberally with the liquid and tossed it on the floor. "Here you go, buddy. Have at it."

"Now what happens?" Steve asked.

Danny sprawled on the sofa. "Now we sit back and watch the fun."

Ninja slowly crept down from the sofa and approached the toy, sniffing curiously. When he reached it, it put out a paw and tentatively batted at it. Then he reached out with both paws, rolling on his back and bringing it to his chest.

Danny laughed loudly. Startled, Ninja rolled over and looked around, then darted under the coffee table. When no more laughter was forthcoming, the cat turned his attention back to the toy, stalking it, tail twitching, until he pounced and once more clasped it to his chest.

He rolled around clutching the toy for a few minutes, then abruptly got to his feet, looking around with a dazed expression. He appeared to spot something Steve and Danny couldn't see across the room and raced towards it, turning to the side at the last minute and sliding into the wall.

Danny laughed again, and the cat leapt at the noise, spinning around in a circle, trying to find it. Then something else caught his attention and he was off again, racing around the room bouncing off the furniture. Every once in a while he'd pause, look around wildly, and take off again.

Danny was laughing hysterically, and even Steve was amused. Ninja finally wound down and hopped up on Steve's lap, instantly falling asleep, clearly exhausted by his exertions.

Steve smiled fondly at the cat. "Wanna watch a game?" He asked Danny.

"Sure," Danny said, "but I don't think it will be nearly as good as watching your cat get high."

Steve had to agree.
