Notes: This is going to be essentially Exactly What It Says: A series of stories about various Doctors and companions mainly involving food or cooking. This particular chapter is inspired by a line of dialogue in the serial Vengeance on Varos. Enjoy!

"I don't know, Doctor" Peri said as she attempted to pick the burnt bits from a rather scorched-looking piece of what appeared to be some kind of fowl on her plate "this isn't quite what I had in mind when you said you'd made dinner. "

"Peri," the Doctor began; his words teeming with exasperation as he cut into his own piece, "I have been trained by some of the finest masters of the culinary arts in history to prepare the most exquisite delicacies in the universe. Surely something as simple as roast chicken should satisfy your human taste buds."

"But Doctor," she replied, "I wanted something cold."

The Doctor huffed in response. He never did say he was perfect .
