A/N: I have no idea but it breaks up my recent streak of angsty writings and I finished it, basically a drabble I guess.
"Hiei can I talk to you privately for a moment?" Yukina asked sweetly.
"Hn." He followed her outside to the newly installed fountain of a dragon swirling around protectively a fox. The irony was lost on Hiei and he hated it when everyone else would laugh as his expanse, even if he was unsure the reason why.
"I have accepted that I may never find my brother but I will let fate decide if I should meet him. I have come to view you and the others as family and for now that is more than enough. I trust you the most and feel closest to you so I wanted you to know first. This might surprise you but I'm hoping it wont change anything."
'And this is where she tells me she's dating that fool.' Hiei thought, nodding for her to continue.
"I'm in a relationship with Botan. As in a romantic relationship."
Hiei was completely speechless, which didn't happen too often and on the rare occasion it did, no one could tell because he hardly spoke normally. His entire being was frozen to the place he stood.
"Kurama! I think I broke him." Yukina blushed as everyone else came around the corner led by Botan.
"Don't worry I'm sure he'll 'fix' himself." Kurama wondered what could have made Hiei shocked enough to render him mute.
"She..." Hiei tried to speak in disbelief but couldn't force another word out.
"Yukina what Hiei?" Kurama follwed his gaze confused until he spotted Yukina holing Botan's hand. "Ah. Well that is quite a twist isn't it?"
"I... She... Botan..."
"Yes Hiei, they are in a relationship, just like a normal hetro couples only they are both female."
"Fox, I know that I just..."
"None of us expected it. Let's go help explain lesbians to Kwuabara."
"No, I'll do it for the dimwitted fool. At least now I have no reason to be nice."
Kurama sighed as he watched Hiei start another argument with the spirit sword wielder. "Sometimes I worry about him."
"Nii-san can be a handful but that's why he has us."
"Does he know you know?"
"Does he know you still have the tear gem you were supposed to give to me?"
"Touche." Kurama chuckled at her acute observation. "I doubt he will , he hasn't realized I have kept my clothing in tact because I'm hiding something, he merely thought I was causing mother to go broke."
"He doesn't know because he's a bit too blunt to pick up on subtle signs. Nii-san is bit socially challenged." Yukina giggled.
"Yes well that's why he has us right?" They shared a laugh before Yusuke joined them.
"Hey Kurama! You know what they say about twins right?"
"Yusuke..." He warned, glaring.
"There's a fifty percent chance that if one twins is gay, the other is too jewel thief."
"Yusuke, you had better not stop running!"
"What did we miss?" Botan asked, watching as Kurama chased after a laughing dead man.
"Oh nothing much, just this time the fox was protecting his dragon." She smiled at the barely there blushes of Kurama and her brother. "I swear, they are meant to be if they'd quit being so stubborn. Oh well, they will learn in time."
"Yes well let's hope it's sooner rather than later." Botan chimed in.
