These things help the brothers make it through the day, when the life gets rough.

Fun

"Have fun and behave, boys," John said before closing the door. He'll be gone for a week at least.

Neither of his sons seemed to mind, though.

Sam locked his gaze with Dean's and the devilish twinkle in the green eyes told him, that they were on the same page.

In a heartbeat, they were wrapped in each other.

"Dad told us to have fun," Dean whispered into Sam's ear.

"Oh, we'll have fun, alright," Sam chuckled and pushed Dean onto their bed.

John should be very proud, actually.

The boys do nothing but obey his orders, while he's gone.

Prank

Dean likes to hear Sam laugh, because it happens so rarely nowadays.

So he makes a fool of himself, throwing lame jokes around, just to make Sammy smile.

Dean's idea of fun is so much different from Sam's though.

There's nothing funny about itching powder in your pants or clown dolls in your bed.

Sam gives Dean his famous bitch-face and that makes Dean laugh.

It's the sincerity of Dean's laughter that makes Sam laugh along.

He would die before admitting that, but Sam likes to hear Dean laugh as well.

It reminds him, there's still a hope for them.

Rose

Sam was the girl in their relationship, Dean was sure of that.

Sometimes he could swear Sam was on his period. Like now.

He got upset over such nonsense!

He accused Dean of flirting with a waitress and then yelled at him for not being serious about them.

Sure, he might have winked at the girl, but that was it, he didn't even take her number. He didn't understand why Sam had to make such a fuss about it.

That's why he was now walking back to their motel room with a rose.

The things he does for his brother!

Hope

Sam was five, when Dean first caught him praying.

He yelled at Sam, that angels do not exist and if God does, he doesn't care about people.

Sam was surprised by the ferocity of Dean's disbelief.

From then on, he prayed even harder, for himself and his brother, too.

He lost faith the night Jess died.

He would never start praying again, if Dean hadn't gone to Hell.

And Dean got back.

Dean started praying, when Sam was in the cage.

And Sam got back too.

Now they pray together.

Because as long as they are together, there's always hope.
