It was a bright day in the village of Konoha. Leaves tossed in the wind as citizens shopped, ate at restaurants, or simply sat in the town park as Gaara did. Dark red hair hung over his teal eyes as he read a book.

What a bore, he thought to himself, longing to see his friend Chloe, a so called magician from a distant land called America.

But that was just what the rest of the Kages said. Gaara believed Chloe and the rest of her friends were probably from a different world, or even a different universe. Perhaps they weren't magicians, but instead a civilian just like him that happened to be caught in a multiple series of events. Although the rest of the world disagreed, he kept to his beliefs.

So he sat on the park bench, waiting for his friends to come back. He heard a loud shout to his right. He glanced to the side, and noticed that a local girl, Sakura, was hitting her boyfriend, Naruto.

"You are so stupid, Naruto!" she screeched as she slapped her companion. He remained silent, taking in the rage of his soon-to-be-wife. His blonde hair was ruffled, his blue eyes glancing to the ground as Sakura took out her rage.

Gaara had never enjoyed Sakura's presence in the village. While the Village Hidden in the Leaves only respected ninjas that could fight and protect for themselves, the highest leaders of the village took their pride in Sakura, a weakling in Gaara's sight. She had the ability to heal others' wounds, but she couldn't fight an enemy. He remembered a few years before, she had fought a demon puppet, Sasori, and lost horribly. She may have died, but was aided by Chiyo, a member of Gaara's village.

What a pest, he thought to himself as Sakura shrieked even louder.

"Could you please be quiet?" Gaara said aloud. Sakura turned and noticed that Gaara, the leader of his village, was annoyed with her. She quickly fixed her disheveled pink hair and placed a fake smile on her pasty white face. Her emerald eyes shined.

"Oh, I'm so sorry Gaara," she said quickly, "Me and Naruto here just got into a little mix up..." Sakura gave a slight laugh, and quickly ran off. Naruto stayed, and walked over to Gaara.

"Girlfriends suck," he complained as he sat next to Gaara. He gave a smirk.

"I know," Gaara said, "She must be a problem, no?"

Naruto grinned in lovesickness.

"But she's so hot and smart and kind and-"

Gaara put his index finger up, signaling Naruto to be quiet.

"I'm going to stop you there," he started, "Before you keep lying to yourself."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Naruto asked with anger.

"Sakura is not the type of person to be dating, Naruto. I'm going to tell you this to spare the pain, so listen well."

"Yeah?" Naruto raised his blonde eyebrows. Gaara sighed.

"The magicians had told me a few phrases from their world, and I'm going to use one to describe Sakura-san."

"Alright," Naruto agreed as he prepared himself for Gaara's criticism, "What do you think Sakura is?"

Gaara held his breath for a moment, then spoke.

"A gold digger."
