A/N: Written for LJ community AU_HBMR (How Barney Met Robin) which is an AU for HIMYM. Feel free to check it out. Prompt was a short description for episode 4.20, written before it aired, so there may be spoilers.

"I didn't mean anything by it", Kelsey, Ted's new intern for his new company, explained.

"I'm not accusing, I just want to know what you meant!" Robin sounded pissed, her tone was raising and her eyes narrowed. She was definitly upset.

"Nothing I just thought that he... that he and you were.. well... it was an honest mistake."

"You thought that - that he and I were a couple?" She turned to Ted who was awkwardly watching the scene develop. "What would make you think that?"

"Well, you can't really blame me, I mean the whole situation's a little strange.."

"It's not strange! Completely normal! Plenty of guys and girls have platonic relationships like this and it never goes any further!" She picked up her laundry basket again and headed for the door, angry as hell.

"You're right, I'm sorry." This was the first job offer she'd had in months and the first thing she does is insult her boss's roommate. Real smart. "I had no right to make any sort of comment like that." Robin turned to lisen. "I don't why I said anything, totally out of line. I'm sure you two have been nothing but friends, good friends." Robin seemed stumped by her last sentence.

"Yeah.. We're jut friends", she began to giggle nervously and put the basket of dirty clothes down, exasperated by her inability to lie. Kelsey looked to Ted who looked awkwardly to some papers, analyzing his new business-stuff.

"Did I say something wrong again?"

"No... it's just... Well we did sleep together... before..." Robin admitted.

"Oh", externally Kelsey was modestly surprised, internally she doing the I-KNEW-IT!dance. She was always good at noticing these sorts of things.

"Yeah but we agreed it was over. So.. That's it!"

"Are you sure 'cause the way he.."

"Yes, I'm sure! Geez, you are nosey. Hey, Ted, don't you have a company to run? 'Cause your assistant won't stop gossiping, that can't be good." She stood up, wishing to be anywhere but here. "I got laundry to do." And with that she left the apartment.

"Is she okay?" Kelsey asked.

"She's fine."

"Ok.. Hey is she and that other guy?..."

"No, not right now. But..."

"But he does like her? As more than a friend, I mean." Ted paused trying to find the right answer, but Kelsey took it as an affirmative. "I knew it! The way he was looking at her and laughing with her at whatever she said! I mean how could she not see it?"
