To say that Kevin Malone's wedding gift was unconventional, was an understatement. It had Pam Beesly curled up in a ball, crying from laughter and Jim Halpert frowning in confusion at the two jars that she'd pulled out of the small gift bag.
"I don't get it," he murmured, trying his best to not call his wife out on the loud snort she emitted.
"It's-us!" Pam let out between breaths.
"Peanut Butter and Strawberry Jam?"
"P-B and J!"
The salesman turned to look at her as she reached across the bed and took the jar of peanut butter from him.
"If I have to explain the gift to you, it's not as fun Halpert," she commented, striking a pose with the jar, "I mean, come on Halpert. Step up your game!"
"My game has nothing to do with this. I just don't get it."
Her giggle made him smile, the noise dissolving into squeaks and gasps as she started laughing again.
"I-I," she dropped the jar back on the bed in front of Jim, "I-oh God, I can't even-okay. I'm going to have a shower. Maybe when you figure it out you can come join me."
Looking at her, the confusion still etched on his face, he found himself running the words through his head as she left the bedroom.
Peanut.
Butter.
And.
Jam.
P. B. And. J.
"He's insane," Jim murmured to himself with a shake of his head.
Dropping the jar of strawberry jam on the bed, he rubbed the back of his neck with a yawn.
"Oi Jam! You joining me or what?"
His eyes snapped in the direction of the bathroom, wide in realization, "Oh you have got to be joking!"
