Disclaimer: I don't own Guardians of Childhood, William Joyce does.

A/U: I still have not finished the third book, so I don't know in what time is it. Also sorry if characters are a bit ooc I don't know them very well. It was inspirited from the line in the book of: North didn't have a mother nor father, or at least he didn't remember them. He had never been tucked in bed... (Note that I have only read it in spanish, so sorry if the quote is wrong).

North was tucking Katherine in bed, that night it was a peaceful night.

"North," Katherine said, sleepy. "Is this how it feels when your parents tucked you in at nigh, when you were little?"

North froze, blinked, then blush and continue.

"I don't know," he said. "I don't remember my parents at all".

Katherine blink, she wasn't expecting that. But of course you couldn't blame her, after all she didn't know much about North.

"Really?" she asked. "Why?"

Nicholas think for a moment.

"I don't know," North shrugged. "I don't even know what happened to them".

"Then," Katherine said. "With who did you grow up?" She had had Ombric, but North?

"With no one, I grew up alone, but when I was a teen I was with the cossacks," North said.

"Who are they?" Katherine asked, curious.

"They are warriors".

"How did you end up with them?"

"They found me, one day," North said with a glint in his eyes. "But, when I grew up, I was a bandit".

"Why?" Katherine asked.

"Because I always have loved adventure," North said. "And been with the bandits was surely an adventure".

"I would love to have an adventure," Katherine said, almost asleep. "Do you think I will ever have one?"

"I hope so," North said, stood up and begin to walk out of the room.

"North," Katherine said, before falling asleep. "Could you tell me of your adventures one day?"

North stopped at the door and said. "Sure," and closed the door.

The End
