Jupiter Blue

Jupiter Blue

Jupiter…

It's been so long since I have been there. I say it's been about four year. Four years since he died. Not Spike, but Gren. I wonder what if Gren hadn't died. Would I have stayed with him on Jupiter? Or would have I returned to the Bebop and pretend I never met him?

I don't know…

"Faye…?"

I look up from my coffee mug and see teenage Edward standing in front of me. She has grown into a beautiful young woman.

"What is it, Ed?"

"Can you tell me something?"

I'm beginning wonder if it was a good idea to tell Jet that I could raise Ed to be a proper woman if he let her back on the ship.

"You know you can ask me anything…"

But my mind is suck on Jupiter.

"When Spike was still alive…"

What she says catches my attention. I know Spike didn't die. He just didn't want to come back to the Bebop.

"…and you ran way…"

Which time is she talking about?

"…to Jupiter."

I feel my body freeze. She is talking about when me, Spike and Jet were all on Jupiter. When I left because of a fight that no one knew about between me and Spike, Jet came looking for me, and Spike went looking for Julia.

"What about it?"

"What happened?"

All I could do was smile at her; when she was thirteen she told me that she didn't care if she heard the story or not. Picking up my coffee cup from the small yellow table, I looked up at the young woman.

"We went to someplace good."

Wait, I think I told her that many years ago.

"Was it really someplace good?"

"Yeah, it was?"

Edward is giving a strange look, but I don't really care. I take a sip of my coffee and I get up to leave the room.

"Can I hear about it?"

I stop at the door. So was wants to hear about it after all. Twirling around I walk back to the yellow chair across from the couch, if she wants to hear the story about Jupiter, I'll tell her.

"Well, it really all started after I got to a little bar on Jupiter…"

Yeah, now that I really think about it, maybe blue wasn't so bad.
