His hand was warm in hers, it was a nice change to the cold breeze around them. She could hear her mother behind them, trying to get cell reception so she could call into Torchwood and request someone to come get them…again.

"Rose?" his voice scared her, it reminded her of him.

But it was him, wasn't it?

"I'm fine, I'm always fine."
"That's my line."

She turned to look at him. The Doctor but not her Doctor. But the Doctor all the same.

He looked like her Doctor, he had his memories and loved her just as he had. Everything down to a small scar on the inside of his index finger said that it was him.

Then why was there this nagging sense telling her to let go of his hand and take it all back?

Behind them, she heard her mother begin to swear bloody murder at the cell phone in her hand, and Rose knew it was time to intercede. She didn't drop his hand, ignoring that urge to leave him there without hesitation, and pulled him slowly in the direction of the older woman. His steps were in-line with hers, and it took all she had not to relive every single moment she'd had with the Doctor like this one.

Her mother accepted the phone that she pulled from her pocket, saying something about how useful that "sonic-screwdriver-thingy" actually was. Squeezing the hand that held hers, she reminded Jacki of how it had saved their lives countless times before, and the woman only rolled her eyes as she put the phone to her ear.

The man beside her chuckled, and she was immediately back to fighting off that nagging voice in her head, screaming at her that it wasn't him. It wasn't her Doctor.

But everything said it was.

His voice, his appearance, his posture, his smile, that laugh. Though she knew that there was a large difference between the two – especially seeing as he only had one heart and at times when he spoke he reminded her of Donna Noble – it was simple. He was her Doctor.

Because her Doctor always came back for her. And he had.

First Doctor Who fic that's actually been finished and ready to post? Check!

I've been working on a few things for DW here and there – including a multi-chapter based on a gif set where Rose is telling the 10th Duplicate that the Doctor was there and that he had regenerated – but I've been working on a lot of other things that sort of took priority seeing as they'd already been published and needed completing.

So yeah. My first DW is done and polished!

Thank you!
