Not my Doctor
A/N: Hey everyone this is a small tester piece that might stand as a prologue for a story. I have never written Doctor Who before so I decided to test the waters. I know that there isn't much here but if you like what you read please let me know and if I get enough people who like it I will write it as a story.
Every day since the Doctor first left her on "Pete's world" Rose did the same thing. She would wake up at dawn before the sun was up; sit on her laptop until the post came. She would get the mail, head to work and then head home. Some days she would watch the sun rise, others she would skip work when the memories where just too painful. Nothing changed, every day she wanted her Doctor more and more. Living a normal life didn't feel right anymore.
When she had been able to travel and see him again the joy she felt could not be contained. To have his arms around her, to hear his voice. It was like she had been in a fog that had now been lifted. She pretended that she could stay, that they would be together again. She tried to not allow herself to be jealous of Donna. It felt like just as soon as they had been reunited, it was over. She had to return to her home. He left her with something this time. The human version of himself.
So that morning once more she awoke with the dawn and got on her laptop. This time next to her in bed laid the human Doctor. It had just felt that he should have been there. They came home from Bad Wolf bay and Rose invited him into the bed. They didn't do anything more than sleep. Rose awoke a few times with his arm wrapped around her. She guessed it was to be expected since he had all of the Doctors memories.
Rose tapped away at her computer and looked over at him. Could he ever be like her Doctor or was she just trying to fill a void that had been left? How could this man compare with the man that she had traveled through time and space with? This man wasn't the Doctor at least he wasn't her Doctor. He didn't have a Tardis and two hearts did not beat in his chest.
He grumbled in his sleep and Rose looked back at her computer. Light started to fill the room as the sun started to rise. She tapped away a few more paragraphs before the light filled the room. The sun was now up completely and the day had started. Rose heard the sounds of her mother in the kitchen. She looked at the time, still an hour early for the post.
She pulled on her dressing gown and headed to the kitchen for a cup of tea. Her mother chatted away about the human Doctor and asked how things had gone the night before and Rose just shook her head. When her mother pressed on Rose snapped at her. "Nothing happened Mum!" She looked down at her tea. "I..I am sorry for snapping. Nothing happened between us. He isn't my Doctor he is a different person. Just because he has the same face doesn't make him my Doctor. It's just…. It's just not the same."
