It all began when Dominique, Scott and Julia were having a discussion about Deception. Suddenly came a knock on the door.

"Who could that be," Scott asked

"Well I don't know," Dominique replied, "why don't you go answer it and find out"

Scott tried to throw her a stern look but his laughter killed it.

Outside the door was a VERY excited Lucy.

"Lucy," Julia said, "come on in"

"Okay… I am so going to get in trouble for spoiling the surprise but I have to tell you. I'm just too excited to wait. You have to know"

"Well," Scott said, "are you going to sit here babbling about what we need to know or are you going to tell us?"

"Okay," Lucy said, "well you know how sometimes someone will start out on one status and then all of a sudden more say way—way—way up"

"Aren't you talking to the wrong person," Scott joked, "I mean back in Jr. High maybe-"

"It's an analogy," Lucy said slightly annoyed.

"What a big word," Julia said teasing her.

"Here's another big word. Shut up. She's trying to talk," Dominique said laughing.

"Actually that's more like six big words," Scott retorted. Everyone laughed.

"So anyway I'm at the café, this afternoon eating lunch"

"Wait. You were at the café eating," Scott teased, "what a novelty"

"Again ha ha ha"

"Okay so moving on," Dominique said… she was getting excited.

"Anyway Scott I think this birthday is going to be the best one you ever had"

"Okay now we're bouncing around"

"Don't you get it. Do I have to spell it out for you"

"Um… apparently"

"Ugh you are such a guy"

"I took a shower last night and I can definitely confirm your thesis," Scott teased earning him a smack on the arm.

"Okay owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww," he said but his pain would soon abide as Tony came in smiling

"I have a surprise for you," he told them

"I KNEW IT," Lucy said excitedly, "I KNEW IT I KNEW IT I KNEW IT"

"Has she been going on like this all day," Tony asked

"Pretty much since she got here," Tony responded.

"Well," Tony said, "let me translate from Lucy language to English. I don't know how in the HELL it happened but Dom has achieved remission"

Scott looked at Tony with tears in his eyes… tears of joy.

"Please tell me this isn't some sort of joke," Julia said

"See," Lucy told them, "I told you it would be your best birthday ever"
