The Greatest Surprise Of All

The Greatest Surprise Of All

Pairing: Loliver (Lilly and Oliver) ;)

Point of View: Lilly's (this will change into Oliver's from time to time, but I'll let you know when it does)

Author's Note: This is another one of my stories. It's been months and months since I've wrote one. Year 10 requires full study attention I miss writing fan fictions and this pairing. Can't wait to see what happens in the Hannah Montana Movie next year -

May 9th 2009. Loliver just has to happen!

Disclaimer: I don't own Hannah Montana. They wouldn't allow an amateur writer like me write their plots or scripts. Besides, Lilly and Oliver would have been together by the second season and living happily ever after…. xD!!

Chapter One: The Invitations

When I glanced at my clock last night it had read 2:15 am. That was the time I went to bed last night. Waking up at 7:30am was the most difficult thing, as my bed was so warm and cosy.

Scratch that actually - the most difficult thing was the thought of going to school today, where my biology exam awaited. I cringed at the thought.

I know you may think that I've been up late studying up until 2:15 in the morning, but I had more pressing concerns. I was printing out invitations for my 16th birthday bash, which was on Sunday. I had planned to invite my whole form. I had planned for this party for two years now.

Two years ago, I hoped to have a secret guest appearance of Hannah Montana, who so happened to be my best friend Miley. Miley had agreed to make the guest performance, so this is guaranteed to be a kickin' party.

I got dressed for school, wearing my usual striped hoodie and jean slacks. I'm a typical skater-girl, to Miley's dismay. Miley was very girlie who had heaps of admirers. I didn't have many, but by looking at the way I dress compared to the way Miley dresses, her clothes were far more flattering.

I rushed downstairs where I was greeted by my mother. "Good Morning, Honey" she said, in her usual perky tone. "Coco pops?" she asked while shifting the box to me.

"Yup," I managed to blurt out. I looked up at the clock, it read 8:01, and surprisingly I was running ahead of schedule. I usually left the house at 8:20 and arrive at school at 20 to nine, giving me time to catch up with my best friends, Miley and Oliver.

I haven't mentioned Oliver yet. He has been my best friend since Preschool. Many people claim I had a crush on him during our pre-k experience because I held his hand. But the only reason I held his hand was because he had the 64 pack of crayons…WITH THE SHARPENER! I pleaded mum to buy me that pack for weeks before Preschool. But I managed to charm Oliver into sharing… at a price though.

Oliver and I have a very strong friendship and nothing is ever going to change that. Many people are under the delusion that we would get together one day… I mean it's OLIVER! He is such a donut and a goofball and ….and he's just Oliver.

It's not like I haven't ever thought of being with him in that way. My mind has betrayed me many times and wondered into the particular thought of having Oliver as a boyfriend, having him as mine, it's strange to think it when you're fairly sure he doesn't think of that thought or even the possibility of having me as something more.

I brushed off the trail of thoughts that may invade and overtake my mind, and quickly brushed my teeth and gathered the invitations for my party from my disorganised desk.

After this, I said a quick goodbye to my mum and made my way to school. The walk to school was fairly quick. I was excited to hand out all my invitations, but dreading my biology test.

I entered the school gates, to my surprise nobody was in the courtyard, or many people in the school corridors. After travelling to the end of the hall, where my locker was, I placed the invites inside and briefly read over my biology book until Oliver and Miley arrive.

After 5 minutes of reading over punnet squares and how to create them, I heard footsteps approach me. I could tell it was Miley, because her walk had a kind of prance in it.

"Lilly, Lilly," she called lifting me from the floor. "Do you have the invites?"

"Yup. I printed them last night… well this morning at 2:15," I said while chuckling a little. "Is Hannah able to sing?"

"Of course she is. But do you really want all that attention on her… I mean, it's your birthday party and I don't want to have her spoil it for you." Miley usually liked attention, but she knew that by having Hannah there, attention will be diverted to her and away from me.

"Nah, its fine. It gives people more reason to come," I said, while smiling.

"Alright then. Listen, I'm gonna be headin' over to Tennessee for a couple of days, visiting family, but I should see y'all on Sunday, making it back in time for the party. I wouldn't miss it."

"Oh…please make sure you'll be there though. And not because of Hannah Montana, I need you there because you're my best friend."

"…And what about Oliver?" She said while wriggling her eyebrows.

"What about him? And stop with the eyebrows, it's creepy." I said, shuddering.

"Well…. I dunno, you guys have been playing this game for so long now. Maybe Sunday you guys will get together. He may be a donut, but he does have feelings." She said this in a serious tone and seriously looking at me,

"What the heck are you going on about?" I was confused.

"OLIVER LIKES YOU!" Miley yelled. After looking around, she continued speaking. "He really likes you and has liked you for years now," she said in a softer tone.

Whoa. I wasn't expecting this. "How?" I barely mumbled. I was taken aback by everything that has just happened in the last 30 or so seconds.

"You should've seen how he was acting when he saw you with Lucas that time, at the café; you know when Lucas asked you to be his girlfriend. Oliver was full jealous. He was giving Lucas glares of pure hate and envy." She was laughing now.

"Are you sure you weren't just seeing things, Miley?"

"I'm sure. Shush. Oliver is coming this way"

"Hey ladies, what's crack'a lackin?" He said in his usual upbeat tone. I found it difficult to look at him, not after what information I just gathered from Miley. "Lilly, you ok?" He said searching for my eyes.

"She's fine" Miley said. "We just need to get to maths. Heh heh…maths, maths, maths ...such fun. We'll see you second period in biology." I didn't look up at Oliver. How could I? My mind was in shock.

"Lilly, what was that? I tell you that the boy likes you, and you don't even want to look at him. Lilly, he has feelings and his heart is real soft, thanks to me making him more in-touch with his girly side. But I'm sure he won't handle being rejected, especially by you."

'Who says I'm gonna reject him? I actually like the idea of Oliver MAYBE crushing on me."

"Lilly, I don't think you understand."

"Miley, I've had two boyfriends. I know what crushing on someone feels like!"

"But I think what Oliver feels for you is much more than just 'crushing on someone'."

"Like…?" I said, once again very confused.

"I think he loves you," she said happily.

I REALLY wasn't expecting that. "Miley, he's 16 and a donut. How would he know how love feels like? I don't even know yet," I asked, curious.

"That's true. But he acts like he loves you. So just flow with it and see where it takes you. You might like the outcome." She was smiling widely now. I couldn't help but smile back.

Talk about your fantasies coming into a reality…it just happens so fast.

A/N: Sorry readers for this short chapter. I'll make the next one is longer. I just need some reviews for inspiration to complete the story. I hope you like it so far I didn't mean to offend anyone by this chapter in any way, so please no flamers.
