A/N: I am a little depressed right now so I had to write something happy. So here you go.
Maybe fairytales did come true. This was real, no more pain no more hate, just love. She wasn't sure how she had managed it but really didn't care as long as this was real. She was finally here with him, they didn't have to be apart anymore and nobody would search for her, she had told her father where she was going and where to safely contact her from.
No more running he had settled down, in Mexico in a secluded community where the wealthy came to lie low. His house was next to the beach so they would always take walks at night, her and Duncan would walk slowly basking in each others presence while little five year old Lilly would run up ahead collecting sea shells or glistening pebbles.
Veronica was happy here, she had a family the kind her Duncan never got, sure for their childhood they had parents that were together but they always fought. That was why Duncan and Veronica never fought with Lilly around in fact they seemed to never fight at all.
So here she was with perfect family where she was actually happy, at one point she had thought she was too damaged to ever give a child the love it deserved but apparently not. Lilly loved her as a mother and would call her mom even though she knew she wasn't really her mom. They had pictures of Meg, so Lilly would always know who her mother was and they had pictures of the original Lilly so that her spirit could live on.
Duncan her prince charming, did everything he could to make them happy, and he succeeded. He never judged Veronica for what happened with Logan, because he never expected her to wait five years by herself. Yet he believed her when she said that Logan was her past but he was her past, present, and future.
So now they had come out the ruins of Neptune and they were whole and happy. They had survived, others hadn't like Lilly, Logan's mom, Cassidy, and Lamb they sometimes wondered how many other people had their lives taken thanks to the seedy underbelly of Neptune. Then there were those that could never escape it, such as Keith, Logan and Mac. Their hearts went out to them, at one point Veronica thought she would never escape it either but her Prince made sure she did. He also made sure that she got her fairytale ending the kind that all girls deserve, and Veronica was sure that little Lilly would get to have hers too.
