This story was originally supposed to be called:
Son of Zeus and Hera
Disclaimer: I do not own the Percy Jackson series, books, or characters.
(Chapter last updated on Feb 19 2014)
A/N: I have decided to redo one chapter in this story so if you are reading this then I just wanted you to know that the original was a bit different. I obviously added more detail. The reason I am redoing this chapter is because I wanted to give a bit more background information on the characters.
Warning: This chapter contains a lot of switching with POVs.
Just another reminder to vote on the poll. If you don't know how the poll works then please read further chapters or you can PM me and I will answer as soon as I can.
I am currently on a Holiday vacation and I might not respond but I will try to respond to all important PMs within 48 hours.
This will be the final update while I am on Holiday. I will be getting back around March 10 2014. It will then take me a little while for me to start writing because unfortunately I have not been able to write when on vacation, like I planned. So my best bet is that the new chapter for Created will likely be in the middle of March.
Happy New Year
-Peter
POV: Zeus
Hera was going to drive me mad. I mean I get that sometimes I can be the worst husband but that doesn't mean that she needs to bring that up every single time I enter a room. She makes it obvious enough anyways; talking extremely loud and sending glares my way.
"Hera!" I yelled at her. She had just got on my last nerve and I just cracked.
"What?" She stared innocently back at me
"Come here!" I commanded and she took her precious time to get to where I was.
"What?" She repeated
"How dare you keep bring that subject up again!" I yelled
"What subject up again?" She even had the nerve to play dumb with me!
"The subject of my many children"
"I have the right to do so and you will not be fighting with me over this topic once again." She folded her arm across her chest.
"Yes, I will be fighting" My eyes blazed
"No" She replied and walked away from me.
POV: Poseidon
"Poseidon" Sally was smiling warmly up at me as we lay down on the beach.
"Yes?" I grinned lazily
"I love you"
"I love you too" I responded and pulled her into my arms. She dug her face into my chest and sighed, completely content.
POV: Hecate
The Lord Zeus and his wife were fighting, again. When will they learn that they love each other no matter what? Actually scratch that thought. I grinned. I would be the one to show them that they needed each other.
"Hey!" I snapped my fingers and a tray of potions was brought into front of my face.
"Here it is." The servant bowed. I just waved him off and he slouched.
"Hecate what are you thinking? You have this crazy look in your eyes and I don't like it." Athena interrupted
"You don't need to like it." I replied and she narrowed her eyes. "Anyways, bye" I moved her towards the door and gestured that she leave me to my thinking.
"Hecate" She warned "Don't do anything crazy, you never know the consequences."
"Whatever" I ignored her and she stormed off, to do gods know what. She probably was going off to start re-reading a couple of her many books.
POV: Athena
I stormed off to my library. It was the only place that brought me comfort when others could not. In fact, I preferred my books over anyone else. At least they didn't talk back to me and actually did me some good, by teaching me about stuff.
I had to admit though, Hecate was acting strangely but I shoved that aside. Hecate and the rest of the gods were strange in general. Of course I was not strange because I was the smartest of them all, everybody knew that.
POV: Hera
I was tired from fighting with Zeus. It was hard on me too. Fighting all the time was not good for my mental health. It wasn't good for anybody.
Anyways, then again I had been fighting with him for the last few centuries of my life. In fact, I can't exactly remember when I was not fighting with Zeus.
"Hera, what are you going to do?" Artemis was surprisingly by my side during this time
"I don't know" I sobbed
"I don't mean to be mean but seriously, this is why I do not approve of men." She looked upon me disapprovingly.
"Artemis, if you aren't going to make me feel better can you at least not comment on that right now."
"Sure, sure" She struggled not to say something about men, most likely not pleasant. If she had her way then all the men in the world would probably be either; in chains or dead.
"What am I going to do?" I wailed
"I-I-I" She stuttered "I think you need someone else to comfort you." She added, looking uncomfortable.
"I think so too" I managed to get out
"Perhaps you can get Hecate to help you or something." She offered
"Nah, she would mess something up and then everything would be destroyed." I considered it for a moment though. "Actually, that might be a good idea." I didn't want to take the chance though.
"I see" Artemis got up and left
"Why does he always do this?" I sobbed and landed face first into the soft down pillow.
I was ready for a night of agony to overcome me.
I called for my servants to bring something for me to drink.
POV: Zeus
I was utterly mad. I knew that Hera had a reason to be mad but I didn't want to admit I made many mistakes.
I was currently outside the Olympus throne room with my head in my hands. I rubbed my chin, thinking.
"Servants!" Immediantly a ton of servants came rushing to my aid. "Get me a glass of water" I snapped.
They hurried to bring the glass to me. I lifted the glass to my face and took a long glup.
The cool water flowed down my throat, soothing the raging fire. I had a sweet tint to it, I realised after finishing the entire thing. The water wasn't enough for me and I found myself ordering the servants to bring me a bottle of Budweiser. I drank the entire bottle in one shot and asked for another and another.
Sometime later I stumbled towards my palace and fell into my bed.
I was awoken later by a loud pounding on the door. I grumbled the entire time, when getting up, but I opened the door to find a very drunk looking Hera. Not that I was sober at the moment either. I felt really light headed, as if I didn't have another care in the world.
I don't remember much of what happened after I invited her in.
*Morning*
I had a huge hangover. I should not have drank that much, but at the time it felt so good.
Having my mind free from everything was perfect bliss.
*Time passes*
POV: Hera
"AHHH!" I think the entire world must have heard that yell, but I did not care. I was staring at the small bump in my stomach. All I could think about was when could this have happened.
I flashed to the mortal world to make sure. I needed one of those pregnancy test things to be certain that it was true. In my heart and mind I already knew the answer but I needed to have the proof right in front of my eyes.
I could see mortals stumbling down the streets, probably scared of me. I am sure that my eyes were almost in flames.
I entered the convenience store, in a daze, and quickly took a bunch of test thing into my arms. I hurried to the counter to pay for them. The cashier's eyes widened when he saw the amount of tests that I took from the shelf but he scanned them quickly. I handed over the right amount of cash before running out of the store, without getting my change.
I hurried to the palace and followed the instruction carefully. Minutes later I was staring at the small positive symbol. I was right, I was pregnant after all. It took me a while before I started to move again. I was pacing the floor quickly, in distress. When pacing I thought of everything.
I didn't sleep with anyone within the past few weeks, I made sure of that. Anyways it wasn't like me to go into the mortal world and cheat on my husband, no matter who much I want to sometimes. Which would mean that the only way I could be pregnant is because of him.
That bastard, he probably took advantage of me when I was sleeping. I was going to give him a piece of my mind right now.
I stormed towards his palace, not being able to think clearly.
He opened the door slowly, as if trying to escape my wrath for a new seconds more, but I wasn't having any of it. I used my hands and slammed the door straight into his face. He fell backwards, clutching his nose.
"What the hell was that for?" He yelled
"You got me pregnant, after taking advantage of me!" I was in no mood to pay games with him
"I didn't take advantage of you!" He seemed confused and that stopped me for a while, but then I remembered that he was a good actor.
"Like hell you didn't" I spat and I slapped him across the face. He didn't even move from where he was. I had no idea what he was thinking but I knew it must not be anything of good use.
"You-r pregnant?" He whispered mortified.
"Yes"
"But how?"
"Have you not been listening to me for the past five minutes?" I yelled outraged "You took advantage of me and then when you were having your "fun" I got pregnant!"
"I don't know what you are talking about." That did it. I slapped him again, this time with all my strength and I watched as he crumbled under the force. I lifted my hand again. "Wait, I swear I don't know what you are talking. I swear in the River Styx." He said hurriedly. I slowly dropped my hand.
"How?" I was confused now, the fight within me had disappeared.
"I don't know" Zeus hurried towards the exit of his palace. "I am going to find out though. Is the child mine?" He stopped
"I don't know"
"Well, can we at least check?" I nodded and hurried to Apollo. I think that Apollo would know what to do, he wasn't any doctor but it was the best in medicine.
I arrived at Apollo's golden palace, I waited patiently after ringing the bell.
"Dudeee" He drawled, then noticed it was me "Oh, sorry Hera" He gulped
"Shh!" I hushed him and pushed him through the door, gently. "I need you to check if the child I am having is actually Zeus' biological child and not someone else's"
His eyes bulged and he hurried into his bedroom, I think. "Of course" He yelled and I relaxed. Zeus came in after that, wearing a rather annoyed expression.
"Is everything okay?" I asked him. I had no idea why I was being nice, I guess it was the hormones getting to me already.
"I need you to change into this and lie down on this bed" Apollo instructed me
I hurried to do what he said. He put a mask over my nose and found myself falling into unconsciousness.
*After sometime*
"Hera, wake up" How strange, a golden thing was floating in my vision. I tried to lift my arms and grab it but it kept moving. I huffed in frustration and instead concentrated on the voice speaking to me. "Hera" I recognised it as Apollo and I immediately woke up from my previous daze.
"What" I snapped "So, what is the results of the test?"
"I am afraid that the child is actually Zeus' child" Apollo didn't seem sorry, in fact he seemed relieved.
"Oh" I moaned and I fell back against the pillows of the bed.
"Do you want the child to be someone else's?" Apollo asked
"No, I just don't want a child at the moment." I rushed out, worried that he might take it the wrong way.
"I see, well you could always just use abortion. It is cruel to kill a child and I would not recommend it but if you are desperate then I can offer to do it for you."
"No, I am not going to kill my child, no matter how unwelcome it might be, at the moment." I was horrified at the thought of killing the innocent child, that was still growing inside of my womb.
"Hera, you need to calm down" Apollo muttered before leaving me to my own devices.
What was I going to do with this child? I couldn't kill it, but I couldn't keep it either. Anyways I needed to have Zeus' approval of what ever I choose because it is his child as well.
I stood up, ready to walk over to Zeus' place and figure out what to do with the child, together.
"Zeus, we need to talk" I was currently outside of the palace, but not for long.
"Yes, I do believe that we should talk as well." He invited me in after that. I settled myself on the couch and waited, patiently, for him.
"So..."I began
"I think we should give the child to a mortal to raise." He blurted out and I stopped talking
"What?" I don't think that I heard him correctly
"I think we should give the child to a mortal to raise for us. The child would be quite safe and we wouldn't have to take care of it." He explained a little more.
" But, I don't want to leave the child in the hands of any mortal" My eyes narrowed
"We won't leave the child in the hands of any mortal. We can both choose the mortal that will carry the child. I know for a fact that Poseidon has started a relationship with a mortal woman." I had to give credit to the man. He knew just how to word everything to make me go along with his scheme. Well it was working really well.
"Fine" I couldn't believe that, even with the curse on the big three children, Poseidon would have a demi-god child. Yet again, it has been proven that the male gods can't keep it in their pants. They have to go around getting every human woman pregnant or else they won't feel complete or something.
"Fine, I was getting tired of this. Lets just put the child in the mortal and be done with it." I huffed and walked out of the palace.
Each column that I passed seemed to hide watching viewers. No doubt the people of Olympus were looking for something to chat about.
POV: Hecate
My beautiful plan was perfected when Zeus and Hera, made the decision to give the child to the mortal. Everything was going smoothly, if only somehow Hades could fit into the equation...
