"Bya-chan, why're y'angry?", Gin asked in a very bad imitation of concern, sitting down on his bed. Byakuya shot him one of his especially cold glances. Just seeing that stupid smiling face was enough to make him feel sick, and now, he would have to spend a week in one room with that unintelligent anorectic moron.
It was their first evening. They were sitting on their beds in one of the little modest double-rooms in the Shinigami Academy quarters. When Byakuya was told he would have to spend some time in those stupid quarters, he wasn't really mad about it. It was only a week after all, he would get to know his classmates better… not to mention the all-day missions they were assigned to, the main cause for which he moved to the quarters.
It was a pity they didn't have any single rooms. But, damn, why did it have to be that Ichimaru-idiot? He had twenty classmates and they had to place him in one room with Gin, who was eternally trying to convince Byakuya about their endless friendship. Well, at first Byakuya didn't pay much attention to what Gin said, but calling him Bya-chan was definitely too much.
"I am not angry", he replied, crossing his arms at his chest. He was sitting on his bed, back straight, and looking out of the window at the training grounds. They were deserted at that time, as it was past sunset and it was getting colder and darker.
"Oh yes y'are, I can see!", Gin insisted with his hissing voice. His smile faded a bit, though his eyes were still closed. Byakuya had always wondered why, and could never get a response that made any sense. It wasn't for the light, because there was not too much of it in the small room, and they stayed closed even if Gin wasn't smiling at all. He didn't bother to ask Gin though. The less he had to listen to his mocking voice, the better it was for everyone around.
Byakuya, sighing, pulled on the cord that held his hair in a high ponytail, black tresses falling onto his shoulders.
"Wow, ya look pretty that way!", Gin squeaked, the sound so annoying that Byakuya stood up, wanting to get rid of that guy, even if for a while.
"I'm going to the bathroom", he said, making his voice as cold as he could. "And you may not go with me", he added as Gin stood up too.
"Whyy?" the silver-haired boy whined, his smile disappearing. "It's easier that way, ya know, I can make sure no one enters and all! We always do it like that here! Pleeease, Bya-chan!"
"Damn. You are unbelievable. Ok, you may come with me", Byakuya finally gave up, took his towel and night kimono from the rail, the hairbrush and the soap from the bed, then opened the door. Gin squeaked, grabbed his own things and proceeded to follow him, but Byakuya stopped him in the doorway. "But! There is one condition. Cease calling me Bya-chan."
Gin looked surprised. They walked quickly to the bathroom as Byakuya wanted to wash himself and get to bed as soon as possible. Tomorrow, they had an all-day training session and he didn't want to be sleepy then.
"Um… Bya-chan?", Gin asked with an unsure tone in his voice when they entered the bathroom. Byakuya felt his hands clench into fists in his towel and kimono. Stay calm. Stary calm. The bathroom smelled of old wet wood and hot steam.
"Yes?", Byakuya asked calmly, untying his white shihakusho. He was already sweating. He searched for a hanger where he could leave his clothes without the risk of making them wet.
"Whaddaz't mean cheese callin' me Bya-chan?", Gin asked. Byakuya looked at him, puzzled. Gin was no less confused.
"You idiot. It is cease, not cheese. And it means stop", Byakuya replied, frowning at Gin and thinking about how could he get undressed without that moron looking at him during the process.
"Ah… okay…" Gin said. He must have noticed Byakuya's uncertainty, because he added "We get naked all together, y'know. It's nothin' to be ashamed of!"
Byakuya looked at him, trying to see a hint of perverted smile, but, deciding that Gin's smile is always perverted, he put his things on the windowsill. Gin did the same.
After a while during which Byakuya tried to hide his blush, they got undressed and turned on the warm water in the showers. The place was soon full of hot, wet steam, covering what Byakuya so desperately wanted to cover. He took his soap, controlling his hands so he wouldn't drop it – it would kill him if he did – and washed himself quickly. His hair soon got damp, but he didn't have any shampoo to wash it. It was a real problem he didn't consider earlier.
And then he felt something sticky pour onto his head. He turned quickly. Gin's perverted smile formed half of his vision.
"Hey, dontcha move, it'll get into yer eyes!" Gin hissed. Byakuya jerked away from him and continued washing his hair himself. Gin shrugged. "If ya don'wanna help, ok."
Gin was the first to finish. He dried himself quickly and got dressed in a thin, white yukata in which he slept. He stood near the windowsill they put their things on, and when the noble washed away all the soap, he took his towel and held it outspread in front of him, as if waiting for Byakuya. The dark-haired boy shot him a deathly glance.
"Give it to me", he ordered, reaching for the towel.
"I'll help ya gettin' dry!" Gin replied in a squeaky voice. "Oh come on, Bya-ch… I mean, Byakuya! I wanna make ya feel at home!"
Hesitantly, watching Gin's face, Byakuya thought the proposition over. If Gin wanted it so desperately, then…
"Close your eyes", he ordered. He thought Gin obeyed, though he could never tell, his eyes were almost closed anyway. He shunpo'd to the towel, but before he could cover himself, Gin started to dry his body.
If you touch my skin with one finger, you won't get enough of my fury, Byakuya thought, looking at Gin's hands, covered with the towel, stroking his left arm, then his right arm, then his dripping hair. When Gin proceeded to his torso and back, Byakuya started to feel uncomfortable. The hands were warmer than he thought, and Gin was quite gentle, but Byakuya couldn't bear feeling good. He wrenched the towel from Gin's hands, showing him to turn around, and finished drying his body himself. He then put on his night yukata and went to the mirror to brush his hair. When he lifted the brush, something tugged at his sleeve.
"Please, please, can I do this?", Gin hissed from beside Byakuya. Not waiting for any response, he took hold of the brush and started untangling Byakuya's black, silky hair. Byakuya sighed. Apparently, he had no choice.
