I was browsing my documents folder, found a page entitled "Plish" for some reason, opened it, and decided to make use of the first three lines.

"You're up to something."

Mai winked enigmatically at her before she returned to her quiet fiddling.

"…I know you are."

There was silence for a moment, then –

"Of course, you could be doing nothing at all and make it look like you're doing something just to see me pace around the living room."

Anzu watched as the other blinked in feigned surprise and scrunched up her nose in an attempt to prove her innocence. It clashed with her usually handsome face, but when Anzu really looked at her and turned her head this-way-and-that, it somehow made her more beautiful than before.

Strange.

She said so and watched, almost in expectance, as Mai's eyelids flew up in true disbelief before she laughed and laughed and laughed, somehow managing to look dignified all the while.

Pursing her lips in slight irritation, she stalked over with what she hoped was a humorless look and attempted to snatch whatever object the other had in her hands. Mai retaliated by moving out of the way, wrapping her flowing arms around the girl as she went and pulling her down to her lap.

Anzu sighed, trying her hardest to make it look as if she wasn't smiling – but she was melting in the embrace anyway. "I knew it."

Mai shot her a saucy grin and said nothing more.

Oh, and Schuldich-muse, I redid it so that there's really not a punch-line anymore; it didn't matter to me either way because I never intended it and it really didn't make much sense in the first place. I don't know if you're still critical about it so it'd be nice to hear from you again.
