Fifth floor goodbyes

It is here, where he and the boy first meet.

Enemies outside but true friends within,

Bound together by hardship and pain

They play.

Fingers ghosting over ivory keys,

Bitterness and rage expressed through the haunting tune.

Tears fall silently down the young men's cheeks,

As they finish their song: Goodbye.

One forever the way of the light,

One hidden in the dark.

Both forced into their fate,

A fate neither wants.

But alas both lives continue without the other,

And in time, their song is forgotten.

It is only nineteen years later when they remember.

No words are spoken

But a look and a nod are all that's needed.

Binding them together across the stars,

Are those sleepless nights spent at that piano.

Never to be spoken of but never forgotten,

The friend they both made,

In the room where all things go.

In a room where you can hide,

A room on the fifth floor.
