Chapter 1: Viola

He was so sad when she died. Sweet Viola… She was such an inquisitive woman. She was always interested in what was going on in the village. She laughed at everything, even if it was only to be polite. She had been so happy when Flora was born. But now she was dead, and she wasn't coming back.
When she died, he visited her grave every day, for five whole months. It became part of his daily routine. Then Bruno revealed his latest creation.
A robotic Lady Viola.
He loved her so, but she reminded him so much of Viola that his heart was in danger of breaking. Everybody's hearts were. So that was why, only a month after she had been unveiled, she had been reprogrammed. Her personality was changed to cold and uncaring, her temper became more volatile, and she was even given a new name. That was when Lady Dahlia was truly born.
Flora was scared of her. She hid away from it, playing in the garden rather than with her toys. He was scared of it too, but he overcame it.
He had to. It was the job of the butler to serve the mistress.
He sighed, and went back to raking the leaves.
