Disclaimer: I don't own James and Lily or any of the characters.
Lily woke up, drenched in sweat, screaming from her nightmare. Her three roommates were still asleep, Marlene lay on her side with a piece of hair in her mouth, Alice muttering and Dorcas flat on her stomach, snoring into her pillow. Luckily, Lily had remembered to cast a silencing charm around her bed last night so no one would wake up.
She lay on her back for 30 minutes, too afraid to close her eyes and relive her parents murder again. Swinging her legs over the side of her bed, she slipped on her slippers and wrapped her dressing gown around her. Treading down the stone stairs, she walked to the common room, but was stopped from sitting on the sofa when she saw a person buried under a red blanket.
Walking round, she found a sleeping James Potter lay with his glasses on, and a book sprawled on his chest, snoring slightly. Smiling, she took his glasses off his face and put a hand on her boyfriends face. Shaking him slightly, she whispered his name, and his eyes slowly opened, his hazel orbs now visible.
"Another nightmare?" He asked, yawning. Lily nodded, "Come here."
James shuffled back on the sofa, leaving enough room for Lily to lie down and she climbed in, snuggling close to James. He held her one hand and draped his other arm over her waist.
"Wanna talk about it?" James asked.
"No, just want to sleep. It's the same as usual, anyway." Lily whispered.
"Ok. It will get better, you know. And I won't leave you. You're stuck with me." He smirked.
"That a good thing?" Lily asked, chuckling.
"Definitely." James said.
They lay in silence for a couple of minutes.
"I love you, James."
"I love you too, Lily. Remember that." He said as she drifted off to sleep. He followed her soon after.
