A/N: The episode The Hub was just begging for some fanfics, with all the inspiration it was giving out. Don't worry, I have some happier fics about it coming up, ones that actually follow the episode, this one is just a prelude to that
Summary: AR Their reunion without Elosha's guidance. Spoilers for The Hub.
Just Love Someone
The first thing Bill noticed as he stepped out of his Raptor was her. Laura. And she was a sight for sore eyes. He kept looking at her, drinking in the view of her, while he slowly stepped off the wing and walked towards her. Slowly, so he could take his time watching her. He wanted to go to her, touch her, make sure she really had returned to him, but even with his concentration completely on her he'd noticed the crowd. The D'Anna model standing next to her. His pilots, with Helo at the head, saluting him. The group of cylons besides them. And he knew that when he reached her, he couldn't wrap her in his arms like he wanted to. She expected him to be professional. She expected him to follow her rules. And maybe, after the 'public' part of their reunion was over, when they were alone, she would ask him why it was him in that Raptor, and he could show her just a bit of how much he'd missed her. Tell her it had been his mission. Tell her it was good to see her. Smile at her with some of the joy he felt at seeing her again. Perhaps she'd scold him, for risking his life, risking 'the Admiral', on such a mission. He would have to tell her it was a military matter. Or otherwise tell her of his experience with lone Raptor missions. Had to close up. Because she wouldn't want to know his real reason, that it had to be him because he couldn't live without her. She wouldn't want to hear it. He couldn't say it. But for now, he was taking his time, to watch her. Before he had to shut his feelings away. Before he had to pretend. And later, well later… Maybe.
