A oneshot about Akutagawa and a little mischief with the ADA in the Beast timeline. If you haven't read the BEAST light novel yet, you totally should because oh my goodness.
Things have always been the same thing for Akutagawa in the Agency, collect all the files for difficult cases for his fellow members. Babysit the kids while Odasaku was away, help Kenji with the animals, trying not to throw up when Yosano heals him, go shopping with Naomi while he sympatize Junichiro's misery by tyring out new outfits.
Fighting the urge whack Ranpo in the back of his head for being a know-it-all, helping Kunikida with the schedules, listening to Fukuzawa's orders while not trying to fall asleep in meetings, hoping to save his sister Gin from the mafia, facing the weretiger from coincedence while hoping he could punch Dazai in the face.
Just your everyday route in Yokohama after all.
Akutagawa is typing on his computer at his desk in the morning, he wastes no time as to get the documents done on time. As he finishes it, he waits for it to be printed, puts it in a folder and hand it over to the director. A black trend of Akutagawa's jacket, reaches for a cup of coffee and hands it to him.
Even Rashomon is a bit tired too. Akutagawa thought.
Suddenly, he heard a noise in the front door, the black-haired boy could feel Rashomon tensed. "This is way too early for a raid." He said.
Akutagawa slowly opened the door, only to find no one there except for a note. It saids, Meet me on the first floor. Akutagawa sighs, he walks down the hallway and entered the elevator. When he finally reached the first floor, all the lights of the cafe were off. The black-haired boy kept his guard up until he his legs being grabbed and he fell to the ground. Akutagawa doesn't know what's happening as he felt little hands, smell markers and hear giggles in the dark. When finally got up, the lights when on and then heard...
"Surprise! Happy Birthday Akutagawa!"

...
...
"What?" was all he could say.
Everyone in the Agency are here, with smiles on their faces.
Akutagawa realized that today was his birthday, and his coworkers remembered.
They wanted to suprised him, to celebrate with him...
He didn't know what to say.
The five children circled around him, with big grins and markers on their faces. Akutagawa put both hands on his face, while not trying to explode. Oda grabs a mirror from his coat pocket and gives it to his apprentice.
Akutagawa could see black marker on his face, with the word 'Sleepyhead' on his forehead, he is counting ten on the back of his head.
There's no time to be mad, he would clean his face later. Even though these people are unbelievable, he was fine with it.
Right now his going to celebrate his birthday with the people around him. Akutagawa closed his eyes and smiled.
We should get used to it Rashomon, this is gonna be our new life for now on.
