Roy Mustang POV

It was a peaceful year for the Eastern Headquarters as there were no major incidents reported throughout the year. There were also few paper works that needs attention due to the uneventful year, much to my benefit because I have ample time to date my ladies. I can't help but feel giddy inside as I recalled my evening date with Rosaline later. That alluring and sexy lady I met at club last week agreed to have a date with me today. Of course, with my gorgeous looks who can't afford to turn me down?

"What's with that creepy smile, Colonel?"

I did not realize that a grin already escaped my lips. I forgot that I am currently reporting in front of my Commanding Officer, Lieutenant General Grumman. By the look he was giving me, he was clearly curious about my secret thoughts.

"Sorry for that Lieutenant General Grumman. I was just thinking of something else," I immediately erased my thoughts earlier and formally saluted my Commanding Officer. I should not be thinking about this stupid stuff in front of my superior…

"At ease Colonel Mustang," he leaned comfortably at his seat.

I dropped my salute. I was actually wondering why he called me out today. It's been a long time since I privately reported to him because there was nothing to discuss in the first place. The military had been less busy because of minimum crimes this year.

"I called you today to help you attain your goal."

My goal of becoming the next Fuhrer is not a secret to my superiors and my colleagues.

Lieutenant General Grumman continued, "I can vouch and recommend you for faster promotion, in one condition."

My eyes widened in astonishment. I can't believe this is happening. This will surely be a huge step to reach my goal!

"Thank you Lieutenant General Grumman! I appreciate your help and I will be more than glad to settle your condition whatever it may be," my excitement is already evident in my voice. I just stopped myself to punch the air in this great news.

He just laughed dryly and clasped his hands together. "It's not a simple condition though."

"I understand that Sir, but I will do everything in my power to do it for you."

The Lieutenant General paused a moment as if debating whether to break his demands or not. He gazed at me again and started, "I want you to convince my granddaughter to marry her so that she will not be able to enter the military, but keep this deal a secret to her."
