Odds or Evens
Platinum Berlitz, or Platina, munched on her Pocky. "This is commoner food." She commented. Dia nodded.
"Is it good?" he asked.
She was tempted to shake her head and say that it tasted like cardboard with out-dated syrup, but she was determined to be nice to her companions. "It's delicious." Platina managed a small smile.
Dia's smile broadened as he munched on his food. "Thank goodness~ I was afraid it would be nothing compared to your usual food."
Platina patted her Empoleon's head while munching another Pocky. She was unable to understand why normal children enjoyed this snack so much.
Secretly, Dia knew that Platina didn't enjoy it. But today, he was determined to release her from her facade so she could enjoy herself.
The three Dex Holders of Sinnoh were at the oddest place they could ever be found: at the playground.
Pearl was busy chasing after Dia, who was scrambling down the slide and hobbling across the play-bridge.
Platina, on the other hand, was sitting quietly on one side of the seesaw. As a girl, she had never played on a playground - they were considered 'of the commoner class' among her family. Instead, she had spent the long hours reading books or walking around in the flower garden.
"INCOMING!!!" shouted Pearl as he hopped onto the seesaw. Platina was lifted up into the air. She let out a scream.
"Ah, sorry!!" Pearl yelled in apology. Platina's heart palpitated wildly. The blood had rushed to her face.
"Y-y-y-you—!!" she couldn't do much but stutter. She got up and stomped over to the merry-go-round.
She closed her eyes and sighed as she sat down. Unfortunately, when she opened her eyes, she was spinning around and around.
"EEEK!!" she cried, holding onto her skirt. Dia was still eating, but he had a broad grin on his face as Pearl wheezed while he spun the piece of equipment around.
"W-what are you doing!?" Platina's face was flushed with embarrassment.
"Yaaah!!! That's what I'm talking about!!" Pearl yelled as he hopped on. "Havin' fun, Platina?"
"...!!" she couldn't really say much. Her throat was clogged up with the surprise she had.
Dia smiled at her. "It's different than what the rich experience, right?"
Platina was surprised. She looked up at Dia, then at the world that was spinning around her.
Slowly... a smile crept up on her face too.
"This is what commoners do...?" she murmured to herself. She was slightly jealous. Jealous? Jealous of the carefree life commoners could lead.
"This is fun~" she giggled to herself. Dia looked up with a grin.
