The Picnic
Cat, Timmy, Karl, Shawn and Oscar are walking towards the park where they have planned to have a picnic. Isaac had told them he would meet them there, after his family event with Aunt Betty, Uncle Ball and Dr Coleman. They are dressed in their usual attire, except Karl's sleeves are a bit shorter and Timmy is wearing a cap to shade out the sun. When they get there Isaac and his relatives (as well as Uncle Ball) are there already.
"Come on Isaac, you want to eat MY muffin, right, dear nephew." "As IF! He obviously wants to eat his dad's muffin!" "Ha! You can't cook, brother; you never could!"
"That's not true. I have practised a lot for MY son!"
And the others are just watching as the way-to-competitive Aunt Betty and the sulking Dr Coleman fought about a muffin while Isaac is watching in confusion. Before long Uncle Ball cleared his throat.
"Will you two shut it! You are frightening the children!" At this Coleman immediately stopped and did a miserable attempt at puppy-eyes towards Isaac.
"Sorry for scaring you, son. Do you want an ice cream?" At this comment Isaac is suddenly interested, but he remembered that the best way is just to let his dad spoil him, so he tries to act cute.
"O-ok -daddy." The others just watch as Isaac's lazy attempt at cuteness sends Dr Coleman into a frenzy. Isaac was quickly picked up by his father and then put on piggyback as Dr Coleman determinedly raced towards the ice-cream caravan.
*Five minutes later*
Isaac and Coleman are now back, and Cat chimes in. "Okay, let's eat!" The others quickly agreed. The meal was now taken out the picnic baskets and unwrapped. There is a good variety of snacks there, from fresh strawberries to tuna sandwiches (courtesy of Uncle Ball of course). They all dig in, and chat pointlessly while they eat their meal. Before long the main courses were finished, and they were onto the desserts. The children are just digging into their strawberries and cream when Aunt Betty brings out a chunky-looking basket.
"Now, let's try some of my freshly-baked muffins!" She lifts the lid, and the other people at the park look in a mixture of disgust and horror as the stench makes a red squirrel in a tree faint and fall off onto the ground. But Dr Coleman also takes out his own ugly basket.
"No, try mine!" He lifts the lid, and the other people in the park are again staring at how the muffins are so burnt they set off the fire alarm of a building 500 metres away.
The children and Ball resign themselves to their fate, and decide to each take one from each basket.
*Five minutes later*
Aunt Betty and Dr Coleman seem smug as five green, puking children and one green, puking adult are hunched up on the floor. Aunt Betty is happy because she never realised what a bad 'consumer reaction' was. Dr Coleman is happy because his son Isaac is attempting to make his dad happy; therefore he is not puking.
