The little foxed jumped with a bright green eye

to the place where the big dog liked to lie.

And, sure enough, the dog was there

shining in the sun with his silvery hair.

The fox stepped foreword and took a place

near the dog's sleepy face.

"Inuyasha?" He asked in a wobbly tone.

"What?" The dog answered in a grumpy groan.

"When's Kagome coming?" The young kit whined,

remembering the girl's happy shine.

She said she'd be here the day before last!"

Why is she not yet back in the past?"

"How should I know?" The dog groaned again.

But the kit wouldn't, couldn't relent.

"She should be here, back home with us."

The dog turned and said, "Back there is her home, stop making a fuss.

"They love her too, it's where she belongs.

Whenever she's here, it's probably wrong."

The boy shook his head and wouldn't believe.

"We love her more. She shouldn't leave

us here to wait,

because what brought her here was luck and fate!"

"Luck and fate." The dog snorted.

"It was an accident." His skepticism worded.

"She was pulled in the well by an ugly hag,

and while she's here all she does is nag."

The fox then stood, suddenly defiant,

but his height was nothing to the huge dog giant.

"That's not true!" He yelped high and loud,

defending his friend. Stiff back, proud.

"Kagome does more than you ever do!

If it wasn't for her, you'd be dead now too!"

The silver dog growled and got to his feet.

"Take that back, or it's you I'll beat!"

"Nuh-uh," the fox said. "You wouldn't dare."

As he looked in the distance with a happy stare.

"Oh, wouldn't I?" The irked dog said,

then gave the kid a whack on the head.

"Inuyasha, sit!"

Called a voice from the well.

Then the dog's necklace made a sound like a bell

and sent the poor puppy straight into the ground.

He cursed and struggled, complained with a yelp,

but Kagome thought it was a fair punishment dealt.

The fox was already moving, eager to greet her,

and she caught him with a laugh. Hugging sweet fur.

"I missed you so much!" The fox wiggled and grinned.

Everything was alright, here with his friend.

Kagome laughed and agreed,

"I was lonely without you!"

She stated with glee.

Excited to be here and not pining at home.

In the past with her friends, here she could roam.

"Inuyasha missed you too." The kit leaned in near.

"Oh really?" Her eyes sparkled, looking at the dear.

"I did not!" The half-demon growled

getting back up, his mood quite fouled.

"It was the runt who wanted you!" he shouted and accused,

his reddening face already quite bruised.

"It's okay Inu, I know what you meant."

The girl then stepped foreword and gave him a hug

unaware of the embarrassment she easily rent.

"Kagome, you're back!" Two voices then whooped.

And the last two ran up so they could all be grouped

as one pack of friends, together at last

in their home of homes

snuggled in the past.
