A/N: A random poem I wrote, inspired by the song Skellig by Loreena McKennitt (breath taking). First 'fanfiction' poem I've written, really, although I do write a load of original poetry. Please R/R. Thanks.

The site majorly screwed up the format of this poem when I posted it last night. Sorry. It's not the way it was written, trust me. I've fixed it now....

This is copyrighted to me. Steal it, and I will hunt you down like a dog. Have a nice day!

The Green Hills

I lived for you but did not slumber.

I did not stray into the fields afar,

Only wandered into dreams and your arms,

Roaming the green hills and the gray mists,

Into the free man's wilderness.

-::-

I needed your touch on my flesh,

Your fingertips on my yearning face.

When God could find no other way to soothe me,

I needed your breath on my eyelids,

As I wept, as we wept in the morn.

-::-

I could not find peace in earth's valleys,

Only in the one of your embrace,

And I could find no other whisper of love,

Only your own, like the sea wind,

To take my tears away.

-::-

Yours words were the only music to claim me,

The only music that echoed in my soul,

And I could not escape your old poetry,

That which your wrote for me so long ago,

Speaking of undying friendship, though we were always mortal.

-::-

I wanted to die in your blanket

So that I may never be cold,

So I could take your threads to heaven

And breathe them into my own,

So that I could be a part of you forever.

-::-

I wanted to live in your heartbeat.

I wanted to live in your breath.

I wanted to live in your words and your tears,

To roam only your edges that fit into mine,

And to only wander you, my completion, for all time.

-::-

I wanted to die in your fingers.

I wanted to die in your palms,

Where my tears traveled their lines

And disappeared into your chest,

Where your heart beat against mine.

-::-

I never strayed from the country.

I only wandered the hills,

Only the green and the mist and the sea,

Where the sky touched the earth in our poetry.
