Bree had never meant to fall in love with Karl. The affair had just started out as a way to hurt Orson, and it had worked. Orson gave her the divorce after learning she was sleeping with Karl.

Karl didn't love her. How could he? She was just a client that he slept with. A lot. That was it, and Bree had to accept that news.

It was hard to, though. Bree wasn't sure if Karl would even want to see her again. The divorce from Orson was final, so there was no longer a need for a lawyer.

She had suffered public humiliation, though. Orson had revealed her and Karl's affair to everyone at a charity event just to spite and hurt her.

Bree stared out the window from her house, wondering what was going to happen next. At least Susan had forgiven her. Karl was coming in a few minutes, probably to break up with her. Bree wasn't meant to be happy. That was just a fact she had to accept.

Karl pulled up to the driveway a few minutes later, and Bree took a deep breath. She prepared herself for what was about to happen.

"Are you hungry?" Bree questioned, trying to delay what she thought was inevitable. She figured making dinner for Karl would distract her for a little while.

Karl nodded, but just kept staring at her. "I love you, Bree," he told her. He meant it. He had never meant to fall in love with Bree either, but it happened.

Bree nearly dropped the glass she was holding in her hands. She couldn't believe it. Karl actually loved her? "I love you too, Karl." She giggled and went over to him. The couple began to kiss.

Bree and Karl had never meant to fall in love with each other, but they had. And everything was going to be fine.
