"My life has never been just mine!"

Every head turned, every pair of eyes focused on the boy standing in the middle of deaths and chaos. Before him, the huge creature dropped once again, causing the ground to shake.

"It's because you've been by my side this whole time…"

He was joined with her by their entwined hands. Her face revealed her emotions to the entire crowd around them.

Sakura watched from afar, tending to one of the injured ninjas. She wrapped a white bandage around hit arm after she finished performing the healing jutsu on it, her eyes up on the two standing together in front of the battlefield. She didn't need to focus on what she was doing, she's done that too many times.

She heard what Naruto said clearly, and although her heart screamed and gut twisted, all she could do was continue wrapping the bandage around the arm. She knew how Hinata felt about Naruto from long ago, it was quite obvious if you look closely. She also knew that she confessed to him in the past, however Naruto didn't react to it in a particular way, which she had to admit, was a relief.

She also confessed to him, although originally she planned to do that only to stop him. Stop him from chasing after something that is long out of their sight.

Although that was her original reason for her confession, as she was saying it, she realized that it was, in fact, true. Her feelings did change and she did stop thinking of Sasuke and began thinking more of Naruto.

"I hate people who lie to themselves," is what he told her that day. At first she couldn't believe it. She confessed and he accused her of lying. He was right, though. Not exactly, but somewhat right. She hammered into herself that her confession was purely fictional, only to save him, however that wasn't the case.

She bit her lip. The scene before her hurt but what did she expect? Did she really think that he would go for her after all of those years of her mistreating him, treating him like trash?

She felt her emotions build up inside of her and she couldn't look at them anymore. She looked down, cutting the bandage and tying it into a knot. She tapped the ninja on his shoulder, telling him he's free to go. He thanked her and jumped up, returning to the battle.

She was left sitting there, among the chaos and screams and battles. She stared at the two, now ignited with the fire of chakra that flowed between him and her.

She was useless to him. She didn't deserve him. She should get a grip and go help the ones in need and actually be useful.

She got up, shaking the dust off her knees. Sighing, she looked around to see if anybody lay anywhere, injured or in need, when her eyes stopped on him once more. Not because of her emotions or thoughts, though.

He was looking back at her.

Her heart raced and she wasn't sure what to do. So she just stood there, staring back at him.

His face was turned only a little bit and he was gazing at her from the corner of his eyes, but she knew and saw it.

He was probably annoyed with her because she was slacking during their most important battle. If they lose this, they lose everything. There won't be another battle. There won't be anything else. There won't be home, her, them. Nothing.

She bit her lip, holding back tears and walked to the right, looking for somebody that she could help, turning her back to him, unaware of the smile that danced on his lips.
