Disclaimer: I don't own Darkwing Duck; they're property of the Disney corporation. I intend no infrigement.

--Yay for 3 a.m. ramblings! I haven't seen the episode "Time and Punishment" since the show was originally airing back in the early 1990's. (For moi, that would be 1994, in particular. Ten years. Wow.) Still, even after all that time, that episode still remains as one of the best episodes of any cartoon show I'd ever seen. I find it quite surprising how such a generally light-hearted show could have such dark episodes, but then, I like dark. Dark is fun. It makes me think, as I've done now. Unfortunately.

Erm, in any case, this is how I think our good ol' DW went from being Darkwing Duck to Darkwarrior Duck, in poem form. :grins: Rereading this...this really makes little sense when put in the context of what you saw in "Time and Punishment". :sigh: Consider it abstract. Really abstract. (Still, I couldn't stop until I used that first stanza in something, and a poem is as good as anything. And far shorter than a full story. :D) By the way, there's also a hidden meaning/sentence in here. Cookies to those who catch it. :D--

Fallen Star
By: SilverKnight

In the land of perpetual twilight
Under the crimson sun
Stood a broken man on the silver line
Where pain and hardship begun

The hidden moonlight glowed like amber
On that darkened day
When the fallen star crashed to earth
And lost his hallowed way

Twilight eternal swept the land
Beneath the crimson skies
When his empty shadow struck a deal
And discarded his former guise

Stood upon the silver lining
Leading himself astray
The wayward hero hurried farther
Down the wicked way

A stricken darkness settled above
Drenching the clouds red
The tainted silver faded away
Shrouded in malice and dread

Forever guiding the setting sun
Searching to find his goal
He strived to end suffering
By remaining in control

Broken by the fall from grace
The darkened star had grown
The silver line a fitting crown
To complete his frozen throne

Man of merciless commandments
Broken only by his right
The crimson son was unquestioned king
In the land of perpetual twilight
