Daemon. The Physical manifestation of an individual's soul into an animal which best represented the personality and social habits of the individual. The origin of the word itself had faded into history along with the tales of the tyranny of the magisterium in a time when witches flew over the northern lands and majestic bears forged suits of armor to distinguish their identities. But that was before the war broke out. A war that rose up through the peasants of the world urging them to rebel against authority and form new societies in the name of equality and peace. The witches fostered this rebellious sentiment traveling to the edges of the elemental lands and teaching their tricks to the people. The people, it would seem, held a power inside them that they could access to become fearsome warriors, this power, the witches named was chakra.
Of the residents of the elemental nations none harnessed this energy more than the Sage of Six Paths. Using the skills the witches taught him, he was able to seal the Magisterium's greatest weapon, the Juubi, away and for a time there was peace.
But all too soon the people forgot what they had fought for and their daemons, once pure symbols of self and struggle became twisted as representations of a person's strength and ability. As time passed and the people of the elemental lands formed hidden villages memories of peace and harmony faded into cycles of violence and hatred.
This, is where Uzumaki Naruto's story begins…

Sooo I got a lot of positive feedback from my drabble "What is a Soul?" and figured I might as well get my lazy self to write out an actual story.
I didn't want to post until I have a couple of chapters ready since I feel bad you guys have been waiting so long! Unfortunately, I've been a bit busy and am only halfway through the first chapter along with working on some new chaps for Settling, So hopefully expect a bunch of chapters within the next week!
For those of you who haven't read the "prequel drabble" please check in so you know what to expect, but I figured I'd get a prologue up cause its better than nothing ;)
