"Brianna!" called Farid.
Brianna wiped her hands on her skirt, "Hello Farid."
Sadness and loneliness. As much as she tried to hide it, she couldn't hide the pain she was still feeling, after learning from the old man and the Bluejay's daughter that they made the new Cosimo; the Cosimo that loved her, not Violante. It hurt, believing that the man you love loved you, but he's nothing but a fake.
When she learned that her father taught Farid his tricks, she thought that he had replaced her with a boy that looks like a girl and disliked Farid. The more Brianna talked to Farid, though, she found out that he actually had a likeable side; like a fun and more adventurous version of Dustfinger.
No, no. Brianna shook her head, Why am I thinking of him like that? Good thing he can't read my thoughts.
She liked Farid; they both loved fire and Dustfinger as much as the other, although she knew that the boy had been more affectionate to Dustfinger than she had.
A part of her used to believe that Farid was Dustfinger's son; and the thought of it always angered her. Now, she only sometimes doubted the REAL relationship behind the boy and her father; Farid sure got Dustfinger's talent.
Farid had been Brianna's confidant when it came to her feelings and things she wanted to talk about. Farid would always react and say the right things, and if he didn't know what to say, they would laugh at his loss of words. He always had a way to brighten her up.
It's great to have a friend like Farid; sureā¦he could be quite annoying when it came to talking about Meggie, fire, or Dustfinger, but he's not bad.
"Boo!" Farid scared Brianna, "I just came and you're spaced out already? Wow, all your work's really getting to you."
She couldn't help but laugh at the remark.
Could Brianna like a person like Farid? There's a good chance.
Would Brianna like Farid?
Probably not. Brianna thought, as Farid talked about the things he had discovered today.
