We have been together ever since our special day
We have'nt been apart or separated
But now our final day together is nearing minute ny minute
I will have to put you, my own flesh and blood, through so much pain
I wish for this not to happen
I wish that this damn ritual would be forgotten
But you plead with me to go through with it, if its what you want...then I will
You say after this we will be one and together forever, but how can that be?
When you wont be right here beside me?
Our time has come
I place my shaking hands around your neck
And I say a long goodbye
It's now my cue to start; I begin slowly putting pressure on your soft, living neck
I see a tear coming from your eye, this must be hurting you!
I try to stop but you place your hands on mine to keep me in place
Your eyes lose their shimmer almost instantly
Your hands fall from my grasp
Your body turns cold beneath my touch
Are you gone? Are you still in pain?
Please answer me...ANSWER ME!
You must be gone then...for no words escape your dead lips
I take my hands off your limp neck and watch
They take you from me and toss your lifeless body into the pit
Without a care it seems...how dare they?
I sit there watching longer, alone
Then I see you
With your new wings
You are finally able to fly without me
You can finally leave this wretched place behind
But I prefer your company
Now its time for me to sleep
I see you outside my window watching over me
I soon bear the same mark you had around your neck
I guess you were right, we are now one
We will be together forever
But will you ever flutter away?
