Disclaimer: I own nothing of Ms. Rowling's work.
A/N: Probably should not be read unless you have read/are reading Disappearance of the Savior. These are scenes from before the first chapter in the aforementioned story. Thanks to Jeramy-Toombs for suggesting this. This will be series of one shots, mainly unrelated.
~Parseltongue~
Done with the job Master Slytherin had given him, Haelan made his way to where he had last seen his Master. It wasn't the best idea to not do what Master Slytherin wanted. He had never -and never would- hurt Haelan magically, physically, or mentally. He would just look at Haelan and say, very quietly, "I'm disappointed in you, Haelan. I thought you knew better than that." It would make Haelan feel extremely guilty, and he most likely wouldn't do it again.
Haelan found his Master. Just as he about to open his mouth to say that he was done, something stopped him.
~I need you to watch over my offspring. I'm slightly worried about the path they are taking, and the actions they have shown themselves doing.~ Salazar hissed to the snake before him.
~Of course. Anything for the Speaker.~ The snake then slithered off, intent on Salazar's instructions.
Salazar looked up to see Haelan with a funny look on his face. He suddenly remembered how Haelan had mentioned that Parselmouths were thought of as a sign of darkness. Not wanting his apprentice to get the wrong idea, he hastened to explain himself. "I was just telling her to-"
"'Watch over your sons.' I know." Haelan finished the sentence. It was as good a time as ever to tell his Master about his own abilities.
Salazar's face turned to a mixture of shock, surprise, and a little bit of pride. None of sons had been speakers, and now his apprentice was one! Finding his voice, he spoke. "So you are a speaker."
Haelan nodded, trying his best to mask the amusement on his face.
