Chapter 1 The message
"Tsunade-sama!"
Tsunade looked up irritated. A number of events had gone wrong earlier that day. The council still refused to allow Naruto to remain the village. Kakashi was in the hospital due to injuries from his recent reconnaissance mission. Her second best tracker, Kurenai, still hadn't responded to the summons. And she had recently been put to the task of completing five mountains of paperwork that she had put off. With a heavy sigh, Tsunade rubbed her temples feeling the all too familiar feeling of an oncoming migraine.
"Tsunade-sama."
"What!?" She shouted. The messenger calmly handed her the message, already used to her loud rants, and silently left. Tsunade took the small paper and stared at it for less than a second before tossing it aside, grumbling at the piles of never ending work in front of her. "Damn Shizune." Mumbling to herself she returned back to her work. Crack! Crap….another pen broken…..
A few hours later, Shizune was in the office organizing her sensei's desk, marveling at how long she was able to be still at her desk. Seven hours and only twenty vases and seventy-five pens broken. This had to be a new record! Perhaps the bribe of allowing Tsunade-hime two whole days of nagging-free sake had been more effective that she had thought. She smiled proud of her work. Finished, she walked to the door but turned to make one more quick scan of the room. Shizune gazed at Tsunade's room, happy at its neatness, when suddenly her eye caught a small piece of paper. She had missed it because it had been near the corner of the desk. She quickly opened it scanning for anything important Hime might have missed. She had hoped it was nothing important. What she got instead was the exact opposite. All that was on the paper were three little words that instantly filled her with horror. Three words that should never have been together. Shizune looked up panicking and dazed. What should she do? Call the ANBU? Call Naruto? Call the Teams? Call…anybody? She mentally slapped her self and took a deep breath. No. The first thing she must do is get Tsunade. Her face grew deathly pale. She ran for the store, praying and hoping she wouldn't be too late.
