I do not own The Ancient Magus' Bride
Chise nervously looked at the letter in her hand. Well it was not really a letter, more like a poem. Heat flushed her cheeks as she recalled what she had written in in. Yet it also strengthened her resolve. Elias has once again asked her if she was afraid of him. To be honest she was tired of everyone asking her that question. At this point it felt more like a loyalty question more than if she felt safe around him. Shaking her head she recalled the many times he had saved her life. In a sense he had saved her when they first meet. How easily could she have been bought by someone who just wanted to use her. There was little doubt in her mind she would have died prematurely. Only used just because of her almost endless amounts of magic. Instead Elias looked out for her and in his own way cared for her. He had treated her like family the way her own blood relatives never did. Remembering however exactly what she wrote through she got cold feet and retreated back to her room.
Later that night Elias was walking out of her room after making sure she was alright when he accidently bumped into some of her study books, causing them to crash to the floor. Once he was sure she had not been disturbed he started to pick up the mess he made. Once he had finished he noticed envelope with his name on it. Simply out of curiosity he opened it and silently began to read.
The world had been such a dark a cruel place
Until you came
You became my saving grace
We may not look or act the same
However I do not care
If you are a fae or a man
How you look is for me is not a scare
I thank each day you took me from Japan
You from a place of loneliness and dread
You showed me a beautiful world of the light
If it was not for you, I would no doubt be dead
You made me thankful to have the sight
I know that not many human emotion to you, are understood
But there is something I want you to know something that I only now realized what I knew
Why I see you so good
I love you
As he read the last line he felt some thump against his ribs. It felt exactly the same as the time when Chise had first meet Tatiana and Oberon. 'Perhaps I need to see a doctor' he pondered. Then he took the poem and placed it in a chest where he kept all his most valuable things. For some reason he felt the need to keep this one piece of paper under special protection.
