Blu was walking around Minnesota with his owner Linda. She was about ten now. She wore glasses and her red hair in a small pony tail. Sure it was cold, but she kept him warm in her coat. He liked it in Minnesota. As they were walking, he could see a bird stalking them. It looked like a crow. He didn't like the look of the bird. It scared him. Blu suddenly felt himself slipping from the jacket. Linda didn't seem to notice he was gone. He was about to call out to her when the stalker grabbed Blu and flew into an alley way. A crow.

Linda felt the sudden rush of air behind her, and watched the crow fly by with something blue in it's claws. She ran after it, and ended up at the entrance to an alley, only to find a bird on the ground bleeding. She tried to scream, but nothing came out as she saw blood. Blood, everywhere and one of the birds on the ground, dark feathers all over the place. And her little Blu, lying on his side on the ground.

The blue macaw shot up from the dream. He was in his hollow. He sighed with relief. He watched as Jewel got up, startled by him screaming."What happened, Blu? What's wrong?" she asked.

"Nothing, just a dream" he replied, with fear still on his face.

"Okay" He began going back to sleep, when Jewel asked another thing. "What was it about?"

"I...I'm not really sure, just a bad dream." There was a pause of silence, and Blu looked over to her. She had a frozen look, yet there was sadness and pain in her eyes.

"Why Blu?" Blu shot her a confused look. "Why?" She had a pained look upon her face, and he felt something dripping down his wing on his wing. He looked down, only to see that she had been stabbed by his claws. Not the claws of his feet, but long gleaming claws from his wings. Jewel fell back, the steel blades sliding out with a sickening sound, and all Blu could do was scream at the horror before him.

Blu woke, breathing heavily. He had no idea what had happened. He looked to his to see Jewel sleeping. Just a dream, he thought. He looked across from him. His kids were sleeping, all bunched up on each other. It was almost sunrise, he realized. He got up to go get breakfast. Before he left, he looked back, and looked at his angel sleeping peacefully.

It was a twenty minute flight to the Brazil Nut grove. He went over to one of the branches, and got five nuts on a leaf, using it as a way to carry them. It made him rather slow, but it was efficient to get all his family food for the start of the day. He began to leave when he saw a bird in a cloak. And he felt as if they were watching him. As if a bird wearing a cloak wasn't weird enough. That's weird, he thought. He curiously followed the bird, only to find them gone. He looked about, yet found nothing. He had an uncertain look, and decided to leave, with the nuts he had.

He arrived to find Jewel now awake, and his son still asleep as well as one of his daughters. His smallest, Bia, was awake however and already having morning stretches.

"I've brought food!" He dropped it by, and the child of his awake came right over, taking one of the smaller Brazil Nuts for herself.

"Blu, thank you." Jewel took one of the nuts and began peeling off part of the shell. Blu looked over to the two other kids, and decided they needed to wake up. It was time they did, after all. He went over and tapped them each one by one with a talon.

His son and other daughter lifted their heads and yawned. Carla, his other daughter who was very passionate about music greeted her father with a smile. His son, Tiago however nodded right off to sleep, murmuring about how early it was. He shrugged.

"Well, if you aren't that hungry then I guess that-"

"Food?!" Tiago was up and already over at the nuts right away, taking one of them and taking it over back to the nest, where he decided to eat it. By now, everyone had a piece of food for themselves.

Blu felt relaxed, the dreams having settled in the back of his mind, never to resurface and haunt him for the rest of the , the thought of the bird that had flown away was still scratching at the back of his mind.

Jewel had taken the lead as he stopped for the moment to ponder on it. Jewel must have caught on, as she had turned back to hover in front of him, concerned look on his face. He shook his head to clear it, seeing her before him with that look. He quickly put on a smile. She had to think about it before she let it go, as neither of them wanted to ruin the day.

So they went on, and Blu once more took the lead and landed on a branch in the nut grove. Some vines formed a sort of curtain to hide them, and there waited some nut shells, filled with fruit juice.

"I got the juice from the-"

"The human building?" The tone she gave made him think it wasn't the best of ideas. But then she smirked and picked one of the half-shells up in a talon, then taking a sip from it into her beak. "It's great, honey. Thank you" she said, setting the nut down and giving Blu a quick peck on the cheek. He gave a confident smile back.

"I know how to do it right." Jewel looked at him with half-closed eyes.

"Yes, you do" Jewel added, chuckling a little. She went back to drinking, and Blu did as well. He saw a shadow go by outside the vines, but then shrugged it off after staring off after it.

After they were finished, they talked a bit about how life was, about the kids. The conversation went on for a bit. Blu felt curious, and popped a question.

"Jewel, did you see someone...nevermind. It sounds silly." She shot him another concerned look, at put a wing on his. The look urged him to speak. "Did you...did you see a cloaked bird?" She looked suddenly baffled. It seemed that she too found it odd.

"Well...no. When?"

"This morning. Outside the den-" He was cut off by an alert look. "Nevermind, it might have been nothing. Maybe just a stray leaf flying by." He gave off a little chuckle, although one could easily sense the nervous touch to it. Jewel was now glaring closely, and then decided to drop the subject. Obviously, that was what he wanted. After that, it was awkwardly silent, so then Blu offered that they go on to the next stop. Jewel nodded, the conversation before having been put behind them.

Their next stop was the falls. Other Spix macaws were already out and about, flying around on errands for finding food, meeting friends. Such things.

Blu spotted Tiago and Roberto, an old friend of Jewel's, surfing along the water's surface on lily pad's. Originally, Blu had not liked Roberto very much. And he hated to admit it sometimes, since he had been somewhat jealous, as he says. A slight understatement. A shadow caught his eye in the corner of his eye. Only to see nothing but trees and branches. By now, it was getting on his nerves.

He looked back forward to see the waterfalls right ahead and angled himself up more to avoid a very wet day. The top wasn't too far, and some overhanging branches were at the top, where they perched. Several other couples were about as well, hugging each other and glancing over the waterfall. Blu glanced over to see Jewel seeming very contempt, sighing as she watched the water go down the falls. He edged over till he was right by her side, then put a wing over her shoulder, pulling her a bit closer. She put her head against his chest, sighing again.

They remained there till sunset arrived.

"Isn't it beautiful?" Jewel asked. Blu nodded.

"Indeed it is." There was a moment of silence before Jewel spoke again.

"I enjoy these moments. We should have more." She looked up to be staring right into his eyes. "Don't you agree?" He nodded with a smile on his beak.

"I promise." They went back to watching the sunset. Somewhere far off behind there was a dark shadow watching over them.

So as you may have noticed, I have finally begun to rewrite this. It was bugging me how short it was, and at first I wanted to delete it. My mind was changed, so I have decided instead to change it.
