Monochrome Mind: A Miss Monochrome Fan Fic Oneshot
Everything was grey to her. All throughout her life, everything around her was grey, with some shades of black and white. That was the way she liked it. But at the same time, nothing else around her was grey, black, and white, like she liked. Why was that, she wondered. A blue sky, green grass, beige apartments, like the one she lived in, yellow ducklings, pink dresses like the ones Kikuko would wear, red autumn leaves. The world was a rainbow of vibrant colors, and with her monochrome hair, attire, and tone of voice, she easily stuck out like a sore thumb.
Not that this was a bad thing to her by any means. The white sunlight was too bright on her pale skin and silver hair, as sunlight posed risks such as harmful UV rays damaging her skin, even though she was a robotic android. The blue of the ocean matched the blue of her eyes, and she always wondered why her eyes were the color of the ocean. Her blue eyes, deeper than the purest aquamarine jewel. The red autumn leaves stuck out too much with their intense, exaggerated crimson colors painting the landscape warmly. The emerald green grass tickling her silver boots, begging her to stop stepping on them. Even so, it wasn't as though the world's colors were bad.
There was a natural beauty to be found in colors, after all. But some colors reminded her of things she wasn't sure about. The yellow of Mana's dress, the dress belonging to the girl who betrayed her, stole her money, and acted like she was grateful when she wasn't. The black of Kikuko's hair, swaying as she moved her body on the stage under the white spotlight. The green of Kikuko's eyes, shining with determination to become the top idol of the world.
However, there was one color that stood out to Miss Monochrome like a pink dress in a black wardrove.
Pink.
Such a warm, friendly, welcoming color. The color of hearts and candies. When she thought of pink, she thought of the pink dress Kikuko would wear in most of her music videos and appearances. Pink was her rival color. One day, she thought, she would stand atop the world and paint it monochrome: grey, black, and white. Not pink.
There was no resentment towards Kikuko or pink. They just stood out to her. Pink reminded her of Kikuko, and Kikuko was her rival, after all. Miss Monochrome turned behind herself, seeing if the owner of the black hair, green eyes, and pink dress was there.
Her expression unchanged, she simply sighed. Kikuko wasn't there. But just because she didn't express emotions doesn't mean she wasn't capable of feeling.
Her entire being was monochrome. Monochrome attire, monochrome personality, monochrome heart, monochrome mind, monochrome soul. Monochrome everything.
Yet...a desire to be a rainbow in the idol world made her soar like an angel sprouting its white wings for the first time.
She was an android, yet a human being at the same time.
