Gold bound down the steps from his room intent on going to the kitchen for a snack. As he entered the living room, however, he spotted a lump of blankets and sofa cushions on the floor around the coffee table. The TV was on some random cartoon and a bit of red hair could be barely seen over all the covers. Gold tried not to snicker, but found it extremely difficult knowing that Silver was under all those blankets. He instead got on his hands and knees and crawled over to Silver until he could see the boy's face.

Silver barely acknowledged Gold, instead burying his face in a fleece blanket with teddiursas on it. "Cold there, Silvy?" Gold asked teasingly. Silver huffed at him, rolling his eyes. "Can I lay down here?" Gold asked after a moment, tugging on the blankets and one of the couch cushions.

"Just be careful," Silver said, gesturing to the delicately balanced pillows. Gold waved him off and scooted himself under the miniature pillow fort. He laid hip-to-hip with Silver and could've sworn there was a blush on Silver's face when they made contact. Unfortunately for Gold, the red-head grabbed a cookie from the package at his elbow and offered it to Gold.

Gold smiled and took it, making sure his fingers lingered against Silver's before he shoved the whole oreo in his mouth. "Thanks…so why are you hiding under every blanket in my house?"

"I'm not hiding," was Silver's answer. He jammed a spoon in a jar of peanut butter and stuck the spoon in his mouth.

"OK, OK, why are you under so many blankets and pillows and the sofa cushions?" Gold tried.

Silver shrugged. "It's comfortable."

Gold nodded and leaned his head on Silver's shoulder, which made Silver tense up. "Well as long as Silvy's comfy!" Silver rolled his eyes and shrugged Gold's cheek off his shoulder. They sat in silence for a while just watching the cartoons on TV, only speaking when Gold didn't understand what had happened. They laid under the fort until it was dark, which surprised Gold. "Oh, the sun went down…" he commented, looking over at Silver, who was half asleep. "Silver?"

"Hm," Silver jumped slightly, relaxing again and rolling slightly until he could rest his head comfortably against his fleece blanket and an ice cream pillow. "Shut up…" was his automatic response as he yawned and stretched.

Gold snickered, reaching out to take Silver's outstretched hand. "You look like a persian!" he teased. Silver huffed, but he was too sleepy to retort or even move his hand away from Gold's. "…Silver?"

Asleep. Silver fell asleep with his hand in Gold's. He's too cute! Gold held in any noises of excitement, knowing the slightest thing might wake up Silver. However, a kiss on the nose was worth stirring the red-head awake.

How'd I do? For never having written Gold, that is?
