Tortallan Poems
By: AnimalWriter1A/N: This is poetry about the books, basically sort of summarizes them in poetry
Song of the LionessShe was a lord's daughter, of a faraway fief
A purple-eyed and copper-haired girl with a difficult life
A knight she would be, disguised as a boy
She traded places with her brother, Thom, who treated magic as a toy
The evil duke Roger, the heir prince Jon, the King of Thieves, George. Her friends and foe.
She would have to play the part, lay low.
From ten to eighteen she grew, from page to squire.
Unleashing a temper, carrying a blade, forced to hide her gender. She become a liar
Duke Roger she fought and killed, his body lying on a funeral pyre
But her secret was found; surely now she would be bound
To Traitor's Hill, against her own desperate will
But pardon she is granted as her Prince, now King, sits on the throne.
Free from his cousin's plan to kill
The young lady knight lost her twin
Amidst the battle, Thom's magic was bled and wasted, dead was her kin
She Became King's Champion, retrieved the Jewel and met the greatest of all the Shang, who would guess?
That all her life she had a quest
The King of Thieves became a baron of Pirates Swoop
In the Desert she was betrothed to him
She, Alanna the Lioness, the first Lady Knight of Tortall
Will still fight through it all
