Anger: Swimming to a shore he'd hoped to keep far in the past while that bastard sailed away in his ship. Again. He felt it boil through him so countered it with the islands finest brown liquid, the only way he knew how to deal with it.
"That's the second time I've had to watch that man sail away with my ship."
Happiness: A beach, rum, a fire and a beautiful girl. Surpassing contentment, as good as any moment on his Pearl. He danced and sang and talked of his beautiful ship. Warmth ran through him.
"Welcome to the Caribbean, love."
Excitement: A plan working well, his ship on his sights, even hidden immortality on his side. He ran scared but could feel the adrenalin rushing through his veins as the two of them fought through the treasure cave.
"You could just surrender."
Hope: The sound of metal on metal. A chest full of love letters. The steady thump of a heart without a body. He felt his own soar.
"You were actually telling the truth."
Confusion: A kiss. She was beautiful and he'd wanted her, been tried and tested and proved he was worthy and here she was. Yet she wasn't. She gave him death but he only wanted her kiss and he didn't understand it.
"This is the only way, don't you see?"
Loneliness: Shouting orders to crewmen, standing proud on his ship. But it wasn't moving. Stuck in the Locker and surrounded by only himself, Jack never felt so alone.
"That's exactly the sort of thinking that got us into this mess."
Sadness: Dead. Not him, but the beast that fell him. A moment of reflection and realisation. Uniqueness does not bring with it immortality.
"The problem with being the last of anything, is by and by there be none left at all."
Fear: Skeletons for pirates, men with fish eyes and tentacles for hands, even sea monsters he could cope with. But seeing his father again? Now that was terrifying.
"You're in my way, boy."
Love: He didn't know it, had never felt it, would almost deny its existence. Even when he held her as tightly as she clung to him, desperate to make her tears stop.
"It would never have worked out between us Jack."
