Disclaimer: I DO NOT own YYH. If I did, I'd be continuing the series.

She had been saving up for years to go see the Dark Tournament in Japan. Only the best of the best, humans & demons alike, fought in it. Kai had always been interested in magic & spirituality. She was considered by some to be psychic. She just thought it was luck. Two plane tickets, two boat passes, five tickets for the tournament, & some spending money. A total of 2650 dollars. It seemed impossible to save up that much money in just 5 years, but Kai managed it. She smiled, & stepped on the boat that would take her to Hanging Neck Island.

Why the hell did he agree to this? Crimson eyes glinted in the dark as he placed his bet.

"100 yen." he finally muttered. Damn that Yusuke. Poker was one of the many human pastimes that he'd been drawn into. And he was good at it, too.

"Aw, c'mon, Hiei! You'll probably win anyway, so at least up the ante!" whined the idiot, Kuwabara. Hiei growled.

"I would, if the detective was here. He can actually play. I don't want you going home bankrupt." Hiei heard soft laughter from behind him. It was Kurama.

"Having fun, you two?" Soft green eyes were smiling.

"Doing what? Pondering my iminent death? Yusuke would be late for his own funeral, which will be shortly, if he doesn't show up."

"Stop whining, guys!" shouted a cocky voice, "I'm here. We won't die." That was Hiei's cue. He leaped up, lunging at Yusuke with his katana in hand. Yusuke looked, & rolled out of the way, counterattacking with a sucker punch to the gut. Hiei was thrown back, gasping for air. Yusuke smiled.

"Is that how you greet people now? Trying to kill them?" Hiei shakily stood up, leaning on a tree for support.

"No, but your opponents will. I was checking to see if you were staying alert." Just then, they heard the captain whistle.

"All aboard!" The four boys, and a masked figure that Yusuke brought along, made their way to the boat.
