Deidara whimpered loudly as he looked frantically up and down the dusty street he was standing on. After having almost been killed in an assassination attempted issued by the other people of his village he had run from Iwagakure to Sunagakure. Deidara bit his lip to hold back the tears that were desperately trying to escape his pure blue eyes. He plopped down onto the dirt road as the tears he had so desperately tried to suppress fell freely down his pale face. "Excuse me? Are you alright?" Deidara looked up as more tears escaped his eyes to see a man staring down at him. He had fiery crimson hair and eyes like mud after a storm. He had a black cloak on with red clouds outlined in a white lining. "I-I-" Deidara's voice quivered as he openly burst into tears. The man looked down at the sobbing blonde and smiled. "Come on please don't cry." The man begged. Deidara looked up at him and bit his lip. "I-is there a m-motel anywhere n-n-near by un?" He asked timidly. The man frowned. "Your not from around here are you?" Deidara shook his head. "I didn't think so. Your hair and eyes gave it away, and if that didn't the fact that you asked where a motel was did. Anyway there's one over there." The man pointed his finger somewhere over west. "Just go down this street, take a left, then-" Deidara's face must have given away his confusion because the man stopped then gave a lopsided smile. "Or I could just show you where it is." He offered. Deidara smiled and shakily stood up. "T-thanks un, that would be nice. I thought for sure I would die on that street, my names Deidara by the way un." He said, offering a hand. "Sasori." He said shaking his hand.

The two walked down the street. Sasori told Deidara about himself. Deidara politely listened occasionally asking a question that Sasori would answer. Sasori noticed that whenever the questions became about Deidara, though, he would shy away from the subject. "So what are you doing here in Suna? Mission? Visiting a special friend…?"Sasori tried to ask casually. Deidara laughed for the first time in…well, Deidara couldn't remember the last time he laughed. "No mission, and I have no one special to visit un." He informed Sasori. "Then what are you doing here?" Deidara stopped and gazed spacely into the distance. "You ok?" Sasori asked snapping Deidara out of his trance. "Un?! W-would you repeat that un?" Sasori opened his mouth then, deciding that that subject was taboo, closed it. "Nothing. Anyway you got a last name? Mine's Akasuna." "I-Iwakatsu un..."Deidara mumbled. Sasori raised an eyebrow just noticing the Iwagakure headband. Why would an Iwagakure nin be here? Sasori wondered. Deidara meanwhile was lost in his own thoughts. What am I gonna do un?! Ok, I have some yen on me un so I should be able to rent a cheap apartment. From then on I should home safe un! Providing he doesn't show up un… Deidara had been so lost in his thoughts he hadn't realized they had begun walking again or the fact they were in front of a motel. "here it is." Sasori said snapping Deidara out of his trance. "T-thanks a lot Sasori un." "No problem Deidara." Maybe everything will work out after all.

Or not.
