A/N: Ok, this is my first fic in Ash's POV. It's kind of a silly story, not that great. Just cut me some slack guys, I mean, I just had this weird idea and decided to go for it. Besides, it's nice and short, won't waste too much of your time
So let's rewind the clock to when Ash, Brock, and Misty were still traveling together.
Andddddd
Go Fish!
"Got any fours?" I asked.
"Nope. Go fish" She answered.
Misty and I had been sitting around the camp fire for a while, playing this old card game while we waiting for Brock to get the fire wood. He sure was taking his sweet time.
"Any ones?" She asked.
I glared.
Handing her the card, I couldn't help but notice the triumphant expression on her face.
I had seen if before of course. Misty was a very competitive person. But at that moment, a certain memory came to mind.
FLASHBACK
"Hey! I think I caught something!" Yelled a younger-looking Misty.
Her aqua eyes shined at the thought of her victory catch.
Instead, as she leaned back, I was pulled out with my brand new Pikachu.
"Aw, it's just a kid!" She said, her face falling in disappointment.
END FLASHBACK
"Ash? Hello, it's your turn!"
Misty waved a hand in front of my face looking worried.
"What? Oh yeah, sorry."
"You ok? You were really out of it there," she said.
"Yeah I was just thinking," I answered.
She snorted.
"Thinking? Probably about how bad you're losing!"
"No! I was thinking…remember when we met?"
That caught her off guard.
"How could I forget?"
She looked peaceful as she thought of that day.
"That's when you destroyed my bike!" She suddenly yelled.
I flew backwards at her outburst and sweat-dropped.
"Then I got to travel with you and now …here we are," she finished.
I took that as a sign that it was safe to speak again and sat up.
"Yeah, here we are. Playing go fish."
Misty laughed first at the lame pun and then I joined in. Before we knew it, we were both laughing hysterically.
"You know, I was pretty angry that day, well, I guess you do know that I was angry. Heh. What I'm trying to say is…I'm glad it was me that fished you out that day."
"I'm glad it was you too. I guess my denseness comes in handy sometimes, eh?"
She shoved my playfully and for a while we returned to our game.
But I couldn't shake the feeling that…there was something more that needed to be said.
"Misty?"
"Hmm?"
"What are you going to do? After you get your bike back, I mean?"
She seemed startled before she answered, "I guess I'll go home."
I frowned. I was hoping she wouldn't say that.
"Do you have to?" I asked.
She looked up at me, a different expression on her face. Happiness…shock? Relief?
"Well…maybe I don't have to."
"I hope not." I mumbled.
"What?"
I blushed.
"Um, I said, 'I hope not.' Like..I hope you don't have to go home."
She laughed at my clarification.
Then she leaned in and kissed-whoa KISSED me.
Just on the cheek but…Misty and me…kissing??
Oh no, is Brock hiding in the bushes? I thought.
"Hey, where are you going?" I asked, confused when she got up, and strangely wishing she would stay.
She ignored my question, her game-face back on.
"Any fives?"
I scanned my deck.
"Go fish."
"Anytime," she said. "As in, anytime for you Ash."
Don't forget to review!
And I mean it!!
