"What are you thinking, theme-wise?"

"Gold."

"..."

"..."

"Sir, that's... that will be very expensive."

"Gold. Everything must be gold. I want gold walls, gold floors, gold banisters and stairs, gold columns, gold thrones, gold everything."

"Sir," the builder sputtered. "Where would we get all this gold."

"That's not my job."

"Can I ask why it must be gold, Sir?"

"I promised my wife a gold palace and she WILL have a palace of gold."

"..." he had no words.

"I would also like leaves of gold suspended from the ceiling of every room."

"Sir, I..."

"Ardashir, do not tease our guest."

"My apologies dear. I must go now." With that he gives his wife a quick kiss on the cheek and leaves.

"Lady Akbari—"

"Please, it is Anahita. Lady Akbari was my mother and her mother." She flashes a smile at the worker. "So what we were actually thinking is a mix or stone and metals. The fence we would like to be bronze with a stone core. River stones for the floor and in the court yard. If we could direct part of the river to run through the heart of the palace that would be marvelous, then we'd have several stone arch bridges to cross. Steel-Glass walls would be nice and maybe we could have actual leaves in the core of the glass. Yes, that would be fine. We will, of course need two thrones in a grand thrown room to the right. They can be fashioned from any metal. Are you writing this down, oh, very good. Then we would like burnt red curtains—and I mean color, not actually burnt, we've had some confusion with that in the past. A training center on the roof is a must. I would like a small armory on the top floor and the main one on the first floor. We must have at least three gardens, I have no preference as to where. The kitchen will be in the back. Ardashir's quarters and I mine are to both be on the second floor. The rest of the second floor is to be made into family quarters and planning rooms. Guest quarters are to be on the third floor. Soldiers and maids are to be on the first and fourth. I do think we should have some gold, but I want it tastefully done, none of this 'everything guilded' nonsense."

"Yes, Lady Ak—Anahita."

"Oh, and we must have an underground weaponry area, six outdoor training grounds, a housing for the foxes and their masters, and two stables—maybe three. And finally, this must all be done by this coming winter."

"Madam," the man's nearly passed out. "That's impose—Oh, you're joking. All right, good one, my queen. Well played. My man and I will get to work on the plans for your approval."
