Merry Christmas everyone! This isn't a Christmas fic because this was supposed to be published as a birthday present for Marna (tiramisuspice) but laptop broke and I got it after repair around 15th December so I decided to publish it as a Christmas gift for her. I know you deserve way better than this but I hope you like, whatever this is. I love you Marna and I hope you have an amazing Christmas and may god always bless you with happiness!

Merry Christmas to all the beautiful people who read this too! I hope you have an amazing time!

You watch her as she grabs Ava's hand, pulling her along and most probably scolding her for talking to your younger brother, Auggie again. You also see her glaring at you with a scowl and you just can't help but smile. If your mom didn't have to go for an important meeting with one of her law firm clients and if Auggie wouldn't have asked you to come pick him up from his elementary school that sweetly, you wouldn't have really gotten a chance to come here and meet her and right now, that seemed like a very disappointing thought.

When you first saw Auggie's frown, you knew it had to do something with his apparent 'girlfriend', Ava. What you didn't know then though, was that it also had to do something with her feisty blond elder sister. You brought the concerned elder brother side of yours from within when you talked to him and explained to him that girls are like that- misunderstanding, insecure and in a constant need of attention but you knew that when Auggie will find the right girl for him, he won't mind taking care of all her needs and keeping up with said things.

Amid your brotherly conversation with him, you felt somebody's hand on your shoulder. You turned back and for a second, you didn't see anyone and it wasn't until you downcast your gaze, that you saw a blond girl looking at you, with a rather annoyed expression. You don't remember the things that happened in between but you remember her going on and on blabbering about how she doesn't like Auggie hanging out with Ava and Auggie wasn't a very good boyfriend. You really should've defended your brother at that statement of hers but you were too busy examining her beautiful features.

She mentioned how all men were dogs and you were intrigued by her sense of distaste for the male community. The way she absolutely disapproved of Auggie and Ava's relationship made her look stone-hearted but you knew there was more because her eyes spoke of a thousand more emotions- of sadness and resentment. As her tongue froze after saying that just like her father, all men were to leave their partners with dashed hopes, you knew you were right. You saw faint tears in her eyes and wished you could make up for all the hardships she'd gone through.

You recall the way she closed her eyes to stop the welling tears and how she nervously left after that. You remember the feeling of complete hate for her father for those broken hopes of hers, which made its way to your heart. You wanted to stop her and tell her how strong she was, tolerating the universe's injustice and more than anything in the world, you wanted to know her- to know the countless stories of her fierceness that were born when her father left and to know the smile that hid behind the tears and cold guard.

"And though she be but little, she is fierce."
