Missing

Sadly, I don't think Claudia died instantly upon being hit, so this is just what I think might have been going through her mind. I wrote this after listening to the song Missing by Evanescence. Truthfully, this is really depressing. I am hoping to get some inspiration to write something a little more uplifting next time.

Her life was full of disappointment and betrayal. How could she have expected anything different this time around?
Her life was over the moment that little boy got shot. Or maybe it was over long before that. Wasn't it the very fact that she had been born a girl that had sealed her fate?
Whatever the reason, it was all over now. Not just her life, but her very reason for existence as well. The one person that kept her tied to this world, who kept her sane, now hated her just like the others. The worst part was that she didn't even get to say Goodbye or I'm sorry to the one man she loved most, her brother, her strength, her everything.
What did he think now? What was he going to think when her body never turned up? Would he care?
She had told him once that if anything ever happened to him, she would go off the deep end and possibly never return. Would he feel the same? The thought had never occurred to her that she would be the one to leave him.
But it's too late to think about that now. And as Claudia Antonia Zacchara lay dying, she whispered a silent plea, hoping against all hope that it would somehow reach him. Please forget me.
