The First Move

Shikamaru sighed in content as he gazed at the sky watching the clouds. He enjoyed the quietness and the peace that came with it. He was laying in the beautiful and luscious grass field with a lake nearby.
His eyes were suddenly covered and he couldn't see anything.
"Guess who?" A voice said as she giggled.
He smiled. "Sora,"
"Bingo!" Sora removed her hands and he could see again.
Instead of seeing the sky, he saw her face looking down at him. There faces were inches away from each other, he would of kissed her but he was too lazy and comfortable too move. As if reading his mind, Sora sighed and lifted her head back up, gazing ahead.
"How was your day?" She asked as she enjoyed the view of the grass field.
"Ehh, boring as usual."
She wasn't surprised at his answer, after all this was Shikamaru. "Hm,"
It became silent, it wasn't an awkward silence but a peaceful one. Sora looked at the sky as she was thinking heavy thoughts. She had liked Shikamaru for some time and they were both currently dating. They would always hang out, talk, and eventually developed feelings for him. Their relationship was steady and smooth but she couldn't help but rethink about it.
The thing is that she was always the one making the first move. She was the one who started up the first conversation that eventually led to others, asked him out, and suggested the dates because she knew that even if waited; Shikamaru would never make the first move. Sora wished that she wasn't the one doing everything but him. She let out long heavy sigh.
They both hadn't come to the point where they said "I love you" but she was pretty sure that she was going to be the one to say it.
Shikamaru looked up at Soar hearing her sigh while she was lost in thought. He frowned when he the sadness in her look. Yes, Shikamaru liked her but he never did anything. When Sora had confessed to him that she liked him and asked him out, he was delighted. He knew it was always her making the first move.
Truth be told, it wasn't his character to do things first, he always wait for the other to move first; maybe it was because it became a habit due to playing so much shoji. You could say that was ridiculous but it was always like that. Maybe Sora was thinking about this, he thought. He decided that even though it was out of his character, he would move first. .
The girl yelped in surprise when she was suddenly dragged down onto the grass.
"Shikamaru!" She scolded.
She turned to look at him so she could yell at him some more but the words flew out of her mind as he stared at her intently.
He looked at the girl that was laying next to him on the grass. The beautiful black haired and sky blue eyed girl that he met, became friends with, developed feelings for, became his girlfriend, and now something else.
He took a deep breath and said the words. "I love you."
The girl's jaw dropped. Did he really just say that? I thought I was going to have to say it, not that I'm complaining. Does he really love me? All those questions ran through her mind but when she saw the love in his eyes, she believed.
She smiled a gentle and loving smile. "I...I love you too,Shikamaru."
He grinned and kissed her.
Maybe making the first move wasn't a bad idea; he should try it some more, he thought.
Alright people, I hope you enjoyed this one-shot. Originally it wasn't going to be like this but something else but I kinda liked this one better. Haha.
